  • "One of the best Sykes cottages I have stayed in and tastefully decorated for Christmas with an excellent Christmas hamper - many thanks."

The cottage had everything we could desire - spotless, warm. well equipped and the beds so comfortable. Really cannot fault it and Marc and Amanda are delightful.

  • "Lovely welcoming helpful couple can’t fault them at all and they provided a lovely welcome pack."

The accommodation is in a very convenient location for visiting Lincoln, Grantham, Nottingham and a number of places of interest. The accommodation has a lovely, fair sized enclosed garden with a swing - ideal for children and quite peaceful. We found the arrangement of the rooms difficult. That is - there was a lounge downstairs but the kitchen and bathroom were upstairs which would pose a problem for someone with mobility challenges. (We obviously didn’t read the description of the property closely enough.) During our stay we almost immediately had an issue with the toilet flushing - the owner came to look at it and booked a plumber in to deal with it - unfortunately too late for us - so my husband - who thankfully is quite a handyman - kept fixing it. The main tap in the kitchen was extremely wobbly - to the point where we were afraid it would break off. The window catch in the bathroom was loose and fell off when we opened the window. The cover to the keyhole in the front door (which wouldn’t shut properly)fell off. Whilst sitting on one of the garden chairs one of the slats in the seat just fell off and we realised that it had been stuck on previously. Although we would recommend this accommodation to anyone and have nothing but praise for the owners - we would say that when you’re taking payment from customers to stay in your property these maintenance issues should be important. (Obviously - if customers don’t tell the owners about the issues nothing can be done.)

T&J were great guests. We always go extra mile-included finding them places to canoe, coming 7 miles to let their dog out, saying “no problem these things happen” when broke ornament-Janine texted “sorry,am very clumsy”.They left lovely review in visitors book + great thank you card. We immediately addressed trickle in loo bowl.I asked if any other issues-they said not.We cannot remedy anything not aware of (2 years 100% reviews). Everything always checked before guests arrive inc. garden chairs. Property Owner

It was lovely, so beautiful and peaceful and Amanda and Mark were brilliant, the welcome package and the time spent on writing out a personalised card was so thoughtful. The property was spotless and was so comfortable. My little boys loved playing in the garden and on the swing and mark and Amanda were so lovely to them when they stopped to have a little chat. The surrounding areas are amazing having spent my summers here with family I already knew the area but there are so many wonderful things to do and the cottage is in a brilliant location to amenities whilst still being in the heart of the country. Thank you so much for having us and we will defiantly be returning!

We found ourselves hanging around the house and garden a few days of the week as opposed to going out because we found it such a nice place to be around.
