The cottage is immaculate and has everything that you could want - a real home away from home. From the welcome pack to the lovely relaxing hot tub, this is the perfect location for a relaxing break - we will definitely be looking to return, thank you

Exceptionally well-appointed, with some gorgeous touches - branded pillowcases and the tray, luxury biscuits and body lotion. Beautifully decorated, and everything we needed was already provided. Comfy bed too! A lovely quiet village, and the food in the pub next door is superb. Even copes well with gluten free food. The cottage is even better than it appears in the Sykes listing, and we will return!

The church is amazing although the bells ring every 15mins. Fab location. Very clean cottage that has everything you need. We missed a garden and evening sun but it was still so relaxing to climb into the hot tub after our long days out. I would definitely recommend this property.

The village is really peaceful and the Windmill and cafe around the corner are a great visit, lots of nice country walks all around and lots of places to visit and having the hot tub to come back to is a bonus. The kitchen is really well equipped we ate in mostly but we did order a takeaway from The Royal Duke bar and grill and it was amazing definitely recommend.

  • "Wow, what can we say?"

! We have just had the most incredible week spent in the comfort of The Pinfold. The owners have truly thought of and provided everything necessary to have the best time whilst staying there. From nights spent in front of the smart TV watching Netflix to evenings relaxing in the hot tub, I just cannot recommend this enough if you want to get away from all the stresses of life. Our dogs were also catered for perfectly with a box full of useful accessories and a pack of treats left in the welcome pack - dog friendly doesn't even come close. The kitchen is amazing - well equipped and an absolute pleasure to cook in. The location of the property is also fantastic - set in the most lovely, idyllic village with plentiful walks on the doorstep. And, the local pub is fantastic - super friendly staff who do everything to make you feel welcome and amazing food! We will certainly be back in the future - thank you for offering the perfect place to recharge.

  • "Lovely cottage in a very pretty village."

The cottage was very well furnished and equipped. The owners helpfully provided information in advance about places to go and things to do. The cottage is well positioned to explore the local area on foot, by bike or in a car. The nearby pub does great food, and there’s a cafe about 10m walk away for daytime meals if you don’t fancy cooking….although the kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. We would definitely stay again.

With immaculate attention to detail. Truly 5 star. We stayed for a week between house moves and fancied a bit of luxury and it certainly delivered. With the pub just a stones throw away and the pretty village lanes to wander through we can highly recommend a stay.

  • "This cottage is absolutely great, and so clean."

It's exactly as pictured, and has all you need for a lovely staycation. We went to the pub two doors down for dinner, which I'd highly recommend. Also went to Rutland waters, and visites a pub called the Admiral Hornblower for lunch in Oakham nearby - both lovely. Lots of dog friendly places to go. Recommend walking up to the windmill, which is just a 10 min walk. Nice little coffee shop. Not much in the immediate village to do, but plenty a quick drive away. Cottage has everything we needed, although a bit more cutlery/glasses would have been good as we had to keep washing them up! Hot tub is lovely, and a nice treat. Check in and out was seamless. Host is lovely. A lovely place, and have recommended to friends and family.

  • "This cottage certainly has the wow factor - beautifully presented and no expense spared on decor and furnishings."

White towels for inside the cottage, dark blue after using the hot tub - the place was immaculate. The hot tub was amazing, perfect after a day out and about. Off-road parking right outside the front gate was a bonus. The cottage is an ideal base for touring the lovely countryside. The whole area seems to be very dog friendly - we ate out each day, mostly evening meals, and were able to take our dog with us. The millwind is a 5 minute walk up the hill and has a lovely little cafe. The potting shed on the way to Oakham was our star find - super friendly and the food was amazing. We visited several pubs for food; the Berkley (next door but one - handy after a few shandies!) and the Admiral Hornblower to name but a few. Melton Mowbray and Oakham have plenty of supermakets and takeaways only a short drive away. We found a dog friendly wood in Loughborough and spent a day at Rutland Water Reservoir - head to Sykes car park for the off lead dog area. Gates garden centre near Oakham is very good but doesn't allow dogs. Oakham itself is worth a visit - quaint shops, a small museum to look around and an enclosed grass area to exercise the dog. All in all, a lovely break away which we'll definately repeat.

Night lights on and inside a lovely welcome box with treats for the dog. We soon settled in to the cosy cottage, cooking a quick meal and relaxing in front of the TV. Beds are fantastically comfortable, bedding is lovely and the en suite shower is to die for! LOADS of towels available. Kitchen had everything we needed - very well equipped. We enjoyed a few dips in the hot tub in spite of the wind and rain!! Locals at the pub asked if we'd used it - so word has got round about it! On the pub, we enjoyed two meals there. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lovely food. Enjoyable walks around the village with lots of interesting properties. Further afield, the shops are easy to get to, to stock up on things. Made thorough use of the WiFi and had fun playing a modern version of Cluedo - as well as Charades! Thank you for a lovely half term break.

They've thought of everything! Not only all the essentials but many added extras... wine cooler, blankets to keep cosy on cooler evenings, separate towels for the hot tub, outside clock, dog welcome basket of bowl, blanket and even a lead if you've forgotten one. Four of us had a brilliant stay over New Year. It was decorated with outdoor Christmas lights and a little Christmas tree inside too. Lovely welcome pack of bubbles, biscuits, ginger ale, milk, dog treats. Was in touch with Louise the owner during our stay and she was most helpful. The Berkeley Arms is just next door, friendly welcome and also dog friendly, great food. Windmill including gift shop and cafè is about 10 mins walk too and well worth a visit. Lovely walks around the village and Melton Mowbray is a nice town to visit too. We didn't get to explore elsewhere due to limited stay. Definitely plan to stay again and some friends are already looking into staying there themselves. Thanks to Louise and Dean.
