  • "So relaxing and welcoming."

Everything you could want is provided and more! Best welcome pack we’ve ever had. Local village has good amenities and great pubs. Good location for visiting different market towns, stately homes and local walks. Lincoln is close enough to visit and soak up some festive atmosphere.

  • "Lovely property in gorgeous rural location with a fabulous garden."

The Wagon Shed was spotlessly clean on arrival, extremely well equipped and very comfortable. We loved the large living room, it was perfect for playing board games in, whilst the dogs lay in front of the open fire. We would definitely return as the area had far more to do than we had originally thought and The Wagon Shed is a perfect base to explore from.

  • "Excellent comfortable cottage with all home comforts available."

Garden dog friendly and quiet. Local walks limited with dogs as access are not dog friendly. Unless you are able to lift dogs over the styles. Okay if you have a small dog but not for large dogs.

It is tastefully furnished to give a lovely ambiance. The hosts have thoughtfully provided everything you might need with lots of little extras that you don't normally find. The enclosed garden was great for the dog. There is lots to see in the area. We would love to return.

  • "A very comfortable and relaxing stay."

Enclosed garden was great for our dog. The whole cottage was very dog friendly and great that there were carpets on the ground floor and not hard floors like so many other properties. We were there for 14 days and throughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend for longer stays. Breakfast at the B&B on our last day was excellent and set us up for the long journey home. We hope to return soon.

  • "The Waggon Shed is fantastic."

Very homely and well equipped with a stunningly beautiful south facing garden, carefully tended with flower borders. Lovely table and chairs with comfy cushions for outdoor dining and an umbrella for when shade is needed. We were lucky enough to eat out every evening until sunset and most mornings. Well provided for in terms of cook wear and cleaning products, as well as oils and condiments and various other kitchen cupboard supplies. The welcome pack is amazing - homemade bread, local butter and cheese, fresh eggs, milk, chocolates, flowers, wine and even doggie treats. The downstairs double is roomy, with draws and a clothes horse but no wardrobe (hanging space next door in the central dining area). Lovely mirror in the deep window ledge. Roomy bathroom next door with large walk in shower. Upstairs (open treads) is a second twin bedroom with a dressing table/desk and wardrobe, a small single with just a bedside cabinet and chair, and a small shower room. There is a large lounge with a comfy sofa and log fire. A central dining hall that flows well to the kitchen and door to garden - very airy and bright. The owners live in the farm house next door and were super helpful of there was an issue (we needed a non slip mat for the downstairs shower for my mom with ability issues and it was delivered next morning). We were sad to leave and cannot recommend the cottage enough. There is a 1 mile flat walk to the nearby Bottesford village where there are several pubs and two great restaurants (The Thatch and Paul’s). Also a few shops, a Chinese takeaway and chippy. Beautiful church and small river. Within 10 to 40 minutes are lots of places to visit including Belvoir Castle, Belton House, Grantham, Lincoln, Stamford, Burghley House and Gardens, Clumber Park, Grimsethorpe house and gardens, Rutland water and church …. We had a fabulous stay

The kitchen is well equipped I always take my own sharp knives etc when staying in holiday cottages but didn’t need any of it .It was such a surprise to get such a great welcome pack which included a loaf of delicious homemade bread . It is certainly one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in .

My husband has mobility issues so having everything on the ground floor was a bonus. We had great weather so we made good use of the lovely garden, & our little dog was very happy, safe & secure. Everything was of good quality & very comfortable. Lots to do around the local area. As a couple wanting to get away for a few days to relax it was perfect. We recommend this holiday home & would love to return.

We were 5 adults and 3 dogs and there was plenty of room for everyone along with a large enclosed garden. It was well equipped, clean and nicely furnished and has a particularly large living room with a lovely open fire. We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.

  • "Lovely spacious and well equipped cottage."

Plenty of room for 5 plus our dogs. The garden was huge and I'm sure would be lovely in the warmer months. Nice little touches like a welcome pack with milk, butter, homemade bread and wine, plus dog treats and towels, which just added to our stay. Nice peaceful location with some public footpath routes nearby, plus other options further afield. The village of Bottesford is just a few mins drive or about 20-30 mins walk, with a couple of shops, pubs and takeaway options. Grantham and Newark are also close by for supermarkets. Great location for a peaceful and rural stay, but close enough to amenities and walking options. Would definitely recommend The Waggon Shed for a delightful cottage stay.

Warm, comfortable, thoughtfully decorated with interesting objects. Everything we could possibly need on Christmas day was there. Even the dog was well catered for. Logs already chopped, very well stocked kitchen, fire ready for lighting. Beds really comfortable & all toiletries supplied. The garden was beautiful, even for winter. The location requires a car but pubs & shops in the very next village, Grantham only 15mins away, as is Belvoir Castle.

Our 2 labradors (who have been known to go wandering, given half a chance) especially loved the secure garden. Top marks for everything.

  • "This is a gem of a cottage."

So comfortable and cosy. Everything we could want: kitchen equipment, games, books, cosy corners and a fabulous garden. There’s been attention to detail, lovely examples of craft and art to look at so it feels like a country cottage ought to. Garden borders are well stocked with plants and flowers and places to sit quietly and not overlooked - a joy to a fellow gardener. Plus a lovely welcome pack for us and the dogs. We found this cottage by accident, last minute and, as it’s new, I suspect that when we want to return - because there’s plenty to do in the area/ we’ll have to book well in advance. Been with Sykes for 10+ years and recommend this place
