  • "Bumble Bee cottage is a lovely, clean, comfortable and well situated cottage."

We had everything we needed for our stay and appreciated the welcome basket left by the owners who called on our first day to check that everything was ok. The bed was really comfortable and the open fire made the lounge feel really cosy. We didn't use the garden as it was too late in the year but it would be good for sitting out in the summer. The parking is on road but we never had any difficulty in parking and it's a very short stroll to the centre of Alford. The cottage is in a great location for visiting the local area and the beaches are lovely and great if you have a dog. All in all, it was a great place to stay.

The cottage was comfortable and provided all that was necessary for our stay and Alford proved an interesting area for us to investigate.

  • "The property was easy to find but is located on a very busy road on a first come basis for parking ."

Surrounding neighbours pleasant and helpful . Good welcome pack - very nice . It is a cottage that has been extended , the bathroom is downstairs at the rear of the house - shower over bath - very deep to get in but nice once in . The kitchen come dining room is small with very limited surface space - takes a lot of moving things to make it work - but adequate .Dining table very small fold down , bit of a squeeze for four . Living room is three seater sofa plus one chair - real fire but limited fuel - good central heating . Two good bedrooms upstairs with very comfy beds - and I rarely say that . The stairs are the issue , if your young and fit no problem , but if your older with joint problems like myself they are deep and very steep - on all fours going up and a struggle with bags - and pretty daunting coming down . However most people may have no issue so don't be put off . The garden is a long grass area for the dog - but a small opening in the hedge with the property to the left means you need to watch your pet . The beaches are about seven miles away - but once there they are endless - how ever certain main sections do not allow dogs on between certain dates eg. 1st April to 30th Sept - please check. This is a good base property to travel around Lincolnshire and has received excellent comments in the book - with very high percentage positive feedback . Personally not quite right for me to book again, however I would advise you give it a try as it is only my own health issues that would stop this . Give it a go - you may love it .

Very clean with everything you need. Comfortable with nice neighbours. Tidy garden with table and seating. Owners are great communicators. A small town in easy walking distance, plus lovely walks from the doorstep. It was unseasonably cold but house was easily warmed. We were very happy with this holiday.

  • "This quaint cottage has been restored in keeping with the age of the property, the decorative range in the kitchen giving an old world feel."

The rooms have soft furnishings with attractive themes, and everywhere has a clean and comfortable feel. The bathroom is a new extension and is beautifully fitted. There is easy on street parking right outside and it is only a few minutes walk to a small co-op supermarket, pubs, local shops , cafe, church , and all the local amenities Alford has to offer. We had glorious sunshine all week, most unusual in February, and spent many happy hours walking on isolated beaches only around 15 minutes car ride from the cottage! Returning to a warm cottage with good central heating and an open fire was lovely. When i had to ask the owner for help, after leaving something behind, she could not have been kinder. Otherwise we didnt meet, and didnt need to, but good to know that, if needed, the owners were there, and very helpful. Thankyou for a lovely stay. Yvonne. FEBRUARY 2023

  • "A delightful, beautifully restored cottage."

Loads of historic character but with all the modern comforts required. Very clean and well presented, with a welcome message and treat from the owner - a nice touch! On a busy road, which would not suit everybody, but it didn't prevent me from spending several peaceful hours sitting in the rear garden in the sunshine with a good book. Walking distance to shops, pubs, takeaways, etc and well placed for exploring the Lincolnshire coast and surrounding area.

Thank you for your feedback. Pleased you enjoyed the Cottage and your break in Lincolnshire Regards Louise Property Owner

We loved the wood burning fireplace which was fantastic on colder days. The cottage is well situated for an amble into the village centre for shopping, restaurants and a couple of nice pubs, there is also a market on a couple of times a week and its only a short drive to the beach, which was great for walking the dog. We really enjoyed our stay at Bumblebee Cottage and our pets loved playing in the long back garden.

  • "The cottage is lovely with lots of attention to detail."

It is well furnished and well loved and in a good location for exploring the Wolds and coast. The only thing we wished we’d known is that it is on the main road through the town. Traffic noise was a problem for us with heavy goods lorries and farm traffic pretty much constantly.

Lovely to see lots of the original cottage remaining. Two good sized bedrooms and a nice long garden to enjoy for your four legged friends or to sit and have a drink in the evenings. Downstairs bathroom wasn’t an issue. Neither was the parking on the road. Delightful cottage would return.
