A delightful village at the northern edge of The Cliff range, at the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Trent in Northern Lincolnshire. Alkborough is a pretty village offering a friendly pub and a pleasant tea room, it also has many interesting things to see including the Julian's Bower maze and the Grade II listed Walcot Hall in the hamlet of Walcot just outside of Alkborough. The village was also involved in the Second World War, with the Alkborough Flats being home to a bombing range. Nearby is the well-stocked town of Scunthorpe, it makes for a fun day out with its range of amenities as well as activities such as a museum and Visual Arts Centre. The charming town of Barton-upon-Humber sits slightly further, with the magnificent city of Hull just the other side of the Humber river. You can also reach the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB should you want a day in luscious countryside.
