  • "This is our third visit to Windy Ridge and I hope it won't be our last."

The view is spectacular and without compare. The house itself is cosy, clean and spacious. 11/10! Just to let you know on our last night I spotted a medium sized silverfish in the downstairs bedroom. It was only one and we spent a lot of time in the property. It's probably worth taking steps to nip this in the bud because a silverfish infestation is pretty horrible. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to come back one day.

  • "On arrival and inspection the bathrooms and kitchen were clean to high standard Bedding and towels provided were also clean and property was well equipped with regards to crockery/cutlery etc for self catering holiday."

There was even a collection of beach toys available for use in outside shed. The owner/caretaker went above and beyond when we had a minor problem with the shower.(thank you). However our holidays were spoiled somewhat by the invasion of what we believe to be pollen beetles on a daily basis. Literally thousands in the conservatory and we couldn't dine at the table in there or leave any food or drink out because of them as they pretty much covered everything. It wasn't nice and pretty inconvenient if truth be told having to constantly clean them away. Note there is a brush in the understairs cupboard but we couldn't find a dustpan. As for the steps at the back there is a lot but they are manageable as long as luggage etc not too heavy. The view and proximity to the beach is what this property is all about and it is without doubt spectacular however for our family the bugs spoiled it.

  • "This is a lovely property and is in a stunning location."

Good level of equipment and would only suggest a dustpan (we couldn't find one) to help with clearing up the sand as you can walk straight out onto a beautiful beach through the sand dunes. We were aware of the steps to the property before we went and these didn't prove to be big problem.

  • "Windy ridge is perfectly situated high on the Dunes."

The property was comfortable and suited us all very well. On arrival all rooms appeared well presented and clean, especially the kitchen bedrooms and bathrooms. The living room however had crisps, hula hoops and maltesers under and around the sofas and a cap between the sofa cushions, which was disappointing. On the whole though this is a lovely place to stay, particularly with excitable grandchildren who love the beach.

  • "Loved the position of the cottage, it has fantastic views of the sea."

The only downside for me are the steep metal steps up to the cottage at the rear of the property. I found it hard to carry my suitcase and food up the steps because of my age and fitness.

The conservatory makes a lovely quiet place to sit at any time of the day. The cottage is very clean and very well looked after by the owners. It has electric heating which keeps it nice and cosy. The owners have thought of everything including comfortable beds, linen and also furniture downstairs. The kitchen is very well equipped.

  • "We have been coming to Windyridge every year (except during lockdowns) for over 30 years."

It is perfect for small children and when those small children grow up it is perfect for their small children. We had 4 generations this year (great Granny only came for the day). Lovely sandy beach and Sandi Toksvig was there filming. The sea was wonderfully warm. Very comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. The conservatory is perfect for enjoying the scenic surroundings as well as cosying up in the evenings playing games. To be able to stay a stone's throw from the beach is very special - a hot chocolate is never far away after beach games and swims. And the conservatory is great for rainy days playing games - you still get the sea view! We sang a verse of God Save Our Gracious King in the sea. The only downside is that we have to wait a year for another visit.

  • "An absolutely beautiful house, set in stunning surroundings!"

We have been coming to Windyridge for many years, since my Grandparents found it! It’s nice to be able to come back again, loads of memories! All the improvements that have been made are certainly worth it, it’s lovely and warm, with everything you need. The views from both sides of the house are amazing, we spent a fair bit of time just sitting in the conservatory looking out at the sea. There is loads of wildlife too, there was a deer in the garden one evening! Not to mention several rabbits. If your really lucky you get to watch foxes playing among the dunes too. It’s worth getting up really early for the sunrise too, and the sunsets are equally awesome! It’s a place I could stay for ages and never get bored of it. Thank you for letting us come back, we loved it, and hope to be back again!

  • "What a wonderful property!"

You certainly can't beat the view, across the dunes and beach and out to sea. It's a very comfortable and comforting place, with a lovely homely feel, plenty of seating and a fully equipped kitchen. It's obviously very well loved and looked after, and kept very clean, with good quality linen and towels, plus various basic provisions provided such as handwash, toilet roll, tea/coffee/milk. It was also much warmer than we'd expected (albeit a sunny week in April). The 30 steps up from the parking area could understandably be a challenge for some, but my partner's 92-year old mother felt that the view was worthy of the effort! and managed them slowly but safely each day when we went out. Once in, she used the ground floor bedroom, toilet and shower room for ease. The main bedroom is extremely spacious and also enjoys the fantastic sea view. The rear patio is actually quite a lovely little suntrap too, with a view out over the caravan park into the countryside beyond, and a must-see for sunsets. Windyridge is in a blissfully quiet area, and often you'd feel you have the whole beach to yourself, except perhaps for an occasional glimpse of a couple of horses out on their daily gallop!

It was a shame that a number of the doors didn't latch as the weather was chilly and therefore the warmth soon disappeared when the door wasn't propped shut! Otherwise we had a lovely stay.

It was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, warm and cosy on cold nights, well-equipped, quiet, peaceful and last but not least- has the best views you can possibly imagine of the North Sea. You can hear the sea pounding in the conservatory and when you're falling asleep at night. It was just great. Thank you very much!

  • "Wow! House envy!"

A fabulous location, perched on the dunes, with direct access onto the beach. The view from the large, comfortable conservatory is quite stunning, particularly watching the glorious sun rises. The whole house is well-presented, beautifully warm for a winter visit, and the beds most comfortable. Never having been on the Lincolnshire coast before, I feel privileged to have stayed in one of the best houses, in one of the best spots. Oh, and it is worth the walk (about 1 hour) along the beach to the North Sea Observatory for a superb breakfast with wonderful views. The steep steps up and down from the house to where the car is parked can be a challenge when loading/unloading the car, particularly for we older folk, but doable. Thanks to the owners for a beautifully presented property.

  • "Had a lovely stay at this cottage, very clean and had everything we needed."

The location on the beach is fabulous and we had excellent weather. One point that was never mentioned was the fact that you needed to climb a full staircase of outdoor steps to access the property, my mum is 69 and found this quite challenging. There was no prior warning to these steps! I think this should be told to people before they book as anyone with mobility issues would struggle to enter the property.
