  • "We had a great time whilst staying at Hedgefield House."

The village was lovely, amazing walks right on your doorstep out the back gate in to the fields. The house was very well equipped with pool towels and the baby cot and mattress to name a couple. We had an amazing stay and the host was very accommodating and helpful. The pool was the biggest highlight for us. Right out the lounge and the sauna was also really nice and got very hot. The pool table and the hidden gem of the table tennis table was also a big hit with us as a family and we spent hours playing on these and having some quality time together. The garden is huge and we made use of the BBQ on 2 days thanks to the coals left to us by the owner which was a lovely touch.

  • "This is a great holiday property, all bedrooms ensuite, large kitchen diner with lots of fridge and freezer space."

The pool is a very nice size and is kept at a good temp, never feels cold when you go in (unless you come straight from the sauna). Music room and a large living room with a pool table. We had a great time and it is dog friendly. The garden gate leads straight onto the recreation ground where the dogs can come off their leads, they loved it. Pubs and supermarkets within easy reach, I could not recommend it more.

  • "Great house."

The pool was a huge hit - well looked after and the temperature was just right. The pool table and table tennis were huge hits too. There's plenty of space in the house to accommodate everyone very comfortably. The four bedrooms are spacious and great that they're all en-suite. There's plenty to see and do in the area and we made use of the local pub too. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We definitely hope to return.

The owners are very thoughtful and left us all the essentials needed (including Presseco!) for a great break. There were plenty of towels for the pool, the beds were very comfortable indeed. The location is great Barrowby is a lovely village with Grantham a short distance away and there are some lovely walks in the countryside

  • "We had a family gathering to celebrate my partner's birthday with his grown up children."

I'm so glad I found this place - it was perfect. I'd been worried about catering for so many but the kitchen was gorgeous and so well equipped - right down to salt and vinegar - it wasn't a problem. The welcome package saved the day when our shopping delivery didn't turn up - especially the prosecco! Everything was scrupulously clean and Sue and Andy have clearly put a great deal of thought into ensuring everything you could possibly need is there. Loads of towels, games, inflatables in the pool (yep - the 'grown up children' loved these), hairdryers etc. The pool table and pool made the visit for everyone! The local butchers is definitely worth a visit (I've filled my freezer) and there's plenty of take outs around. The pool was warm throughout our stay and we got far to used to swimming everyday. Sue and Andy were on hand when we needed them but never intrusive and made us feel so welcome. I'd love to come back in the summer months to take advantage of the lovely terrace and BBQ area - but even without this, we had a fantastic week. Thank you so much to both of you for making the week so special - we've taken away lots of happy memories and very much hope to return. Jacky and Colin

  • "This is an outstanding property and the owners are so welcoming and helpful."

We gathered as 3 generations plus dog for a special birthday weekend and just had the most brilliant time. Loved the swimming pool and pool table; loved the fact that there were so many spaces where we could all be together and superb facilities for catering but equally everyone had their own ensuite bedroom space to escape to for 5 minutes. Cannot fault it - in fact it exceeds the description given. Highly recommended.

  • "The house was lovely and we especially enjoyed the swimming pool."

Everything we were likely to need was provided and a welcome pack. The children loved the billiard and table tennis tables. It was nice to have a couple of sitting rooms so the children could escape to play their games. We had a lovely barbecue and luckily coke was provided because we could not buy any. The local pub was not far away and they supplied lovely food and the host was very friendly. We bought meat and pork pies from the butcher. The village play park was great also with some good equipment. We did have a slight problem but it was dealt with straight away even though it was quite late at night - thank you Sue!

The was a leak in the closet room where they keep the baby gate. We hung up our costs in there and they were wet through.

  • "A really lovely chilled out stay at Hedgefield House which was equipped with everything needed for our stay."

Enclosed garden for the dogs with huge fields just through the back gate, a fantastic utility room after a wet walk. We took full advantage of the swimming pool which can also be accessed and viewed through the living room (great if you have family that can't use the pool but still want to watch the fun). All in all a great place to stay

  • "When I booked this house for 6 adults and 4 pets, I could not believe that I had found a property with all bedrooms en-suite plus an indoor pool, spacious rooms, enclosed garden etc."

I revisited the listing a few times looking for the catch. When we arrived, the property did not just meet our expectations, it exceeded them and there was no catch. The kitchen and dining area was spacious enough for all 6 of us to be together for meals without being crowded together. The separate sitting room and living room meant that we could watch different things (Euros and Wimbledon on at the time). The utility room was a great bedroom for the pets, with a sink and plenty of worktop to prepare their meals apart form our food, there was a side door which led to the garden. Also two toilets downstairs which was very useful. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, couldn't use the upstairs terrace as much as we would have liked due to rain. The pool is fantastic, straight through from the living room and being able to swim and see into the garden where the dogs were playing. The sauna and pool table were great too. Access via the back gate into a field for the dogs and 2 of us who went jogging before breakfast was so easy. The village is also lovely with a very good butcher and a pub doing meals. Small supermarket only 5 mins drive away and Grantham very near for bigger shops. The owners came soon after we arrived to advise about the pool and were very welcoming and nearby if we needed them. Cannot find fault with anything on this property and it's so difficult to find anything so good, that we have already booked again for next year. We all had a brilliant holiday.

It is large and well planned, allowing everyone to have their own space. Our grandsons loved the heated pool, the table tennis and the pool table and the playing field to the rear of the property was an added bonus, enabling us all to have a game of cricket, football and baseball. The sauna is an added treat. The owners provide for your every need and quality furnishings complete this exceptional home from home. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return.

The house itself was immaculately clean, with beautiful bedding, ample clean towels and cutelry and crockery to cover every occassion. The welcome pack was delightful, made up of fresh breads, eggs, jams, chutney etc- such a lovely touch. We also appreciated the information on the area- best walks, pubs, local shops and amenities etc Most importantly the hosts were absolutely delightful, making you feel welcome and at ease in their beautiful home from the off. This meant the entire family and pooches had an all together fabulous time and a much welcome break making full use of the swimming pool, sauna, enclosed gardens, pool table etc. We would recommend this house to everyone. In summary- just fabulous and we will definaetly be returning!!

  • "Both Sue and Andy were superb owners."

They have kitted out the house perfectly.. and have clearly thought through the use by families. (Inflatables in the pool, racket/games equipment and various board games etc.) In the cinema sound room there is a huge range of CDs and DVDs to try out! The large smart ultra HD TV in the kitchen was the most useful... being able to connect to the internet, play YouTube music and access Netflix etc. The lounge TV didn't allow this.. so maybe an upgrade or smart box would help for those who want tech! The pool is fantastic. The sauna sublime. Various chairs and tables meant you could sit poolside, watching the children have fun whilst enjoying a cooling drink. The huge lounge was very comfortable and a newly recovered pool table that sits at the back of this room meant you are never bored! The kitchen is well equipped with mostly brand you equipment - all of high quality. The kitchen was a dream to use and thanks to the local butchers 2 mins walk away.. we ate in every night! The utility room is huge.. and doubles up as a dog safe room for bed time for pooches. Bosch washing machine (whisper quiet!) and tumble dryer are a welcome addition. The bedrooms are all double sized with various ensuites. Super showers with side jet, Jacuzzi bath, and even dual sinks in one room. The beds and furniture are nearly all brand new. Quality again. The mattress (thanks to John Lewis) is the most comfy we've ever slept on! (And now added to my own wish list!). The house feels like your own home thanks to the soft furnishings and tasteful decor and artwork. Fresh flowers in the kitchen and in some bedrooms also made it feel very special and welcoming. Sue and Andy are not far away.. so if anything is needed or any problems they are right there. In fact a passing comment from my wife about gin glasses missing... ended with Andy delivering 4 to us within about 20mins! We we're so grateful to stay in such a lovely place, with lovely hosts and their personal recommendations on walks, food, pubs... all made life very easy and very relaxing. I would recommend here any time.
