  • "A small and comfortable cottage situated in the peaceful surroundings of the countyside with excellent views but within easy reach of places of interest."

A welcome tray of esential foods and a vase of flowers was a welcome addition and a warm welcome came from the owner who, after introducing himself and giving his mobile contact if we needed anything, left us in privacy to enjoy a relaxing week. For a couple looking to unwind for 5he week this would be an ideal consideration

The Sett is very comfortable and in a very peaceful location. It was super clean. Towels and bedding are top quality. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack. We enjoyed exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds and coast. The owners are friendly and on hand if you have any enquiries or need help. The bonus was the weather was absolutely gorgeous.

We find it an ideal base for birding on the Humber. It is lovely to come home to a squisky sofa, a hot shower and toasty surroundings after a day on the east coast. Thank you

Very nice open views from the bedroom where doors open onto the garden area. We saw some lovely sunsets. All very clean with good quality bedding & towels provided. The bathroom has a lovely free standing bath & large separate shower so all tastes catered for.

Had a nice integrated kitchen and wet room (floor squeegee provided). Close enough to the beach to visit, and in a very pretty area in general. Thank you to the hosts.

  • "Really impressed with the property."

Lovely setting, private and cosy and clean. Might have not read the details properly but don't recall summerhouse and use of being mentioned which was a lovely surprise, maybe include in advertising. Integral coffee machine - first time we've ever seen that. Very impressive. Wouldn't hesitate to book again. Beautiful!

  • "A great place to stay and explore the Lincolnshire Wolds."

Greeted by James the owner who made us feel very welcome. The bungalow is very clean and modern, with a great little private garden space for taking in the sunset with a glass or two. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you could need, including a freezer (mentioned as absent in the official blurb). The living space is cosy, the bed comfy and shower excellent, although I'm not a great lover of wet rooms as an evening shower means you are paddling when you need to use the loo overnight. We really enjoyed staying here. One last thing; local signage indicates the main road to the village is closed until Christmas. It isn't. The road closes after the village. You're welcome.

  • "The cottage was really beautiful, and had everything you could possibly need during your stay."

It was clean and inviting, with extra touches, such as a lovely welcome hamper, toiletries, and even a fresh vase of roses sat on the dinning table when we arrived. It had beautiful views across farmland, when we opened the patio doors in our bedroom. Comfortable garden furniture, and even a little Summer house to chill and read a book. Lovely county walks all around the area. The village was very pretty, as were the surrounding villages. The owners were friendly and helpful. Just cannot fault this wonderful cottage.

  • "Beautiful accommodation with top quality fixtures & fittings."

Perfect for a relaxing break away from everyday life (no traffic noise only birdsong) but with every appliance you could want including excellent internet connection. Lovely unexpected welcome basket + extra touches like toothbrushes, toothpaste & slippers. Personally I found the bed a bit low due to dodgy knees & back unfortunately we had to cut our break short due to the availability of a last minute hospital appointment. Will recommend to friends & family looking for accommodation in this area

  • "Great cottage in a fabulous location with wonderful walks straight from the door - try the 'Wanderlust Way' for gentle long walks."

Fabulous beaches all along the coast - great cakes at the North Sea Observatory & Anderby Creek on the Coastal Country Park walk. The animals at Mabelthorpe Sea Sanctuary are well worth a visit and Cooplands Bakers at Sutton on Sea a must for great tea/coffee and brilliant cakes (takeaway). The cottage was superbly clean and the welcome basket was lovely as were the flowers. It provided everything we needed. Fabulous secluded garden with furniture and lovely views. One of the nicest places we have stayed in.

  • "The Sett is in a very peaceful area and the secluded garden area was a lovely addition, everything we needed had been catered for even to having a welcome hamper left."

The only thing we found to be aware of is the amount of places to eat out is quite limited, although this was hampered by the corona virus. All in all we had a very relaxing and comfortable stay, would recommend.

  • "We really enjoyed our week at The Sett."

The hosts were lovely and really thoughtful. We were touched by the lovely hamper and toiletries they left us as well as the gifts and toiletries for our little one year old. The Sett is a cosy yet private cottage with everything you could possibly need, and the decor was lovely and of a high standard. It was handy for us that all the rooms were on one level. We appreciated having access to the controls for the heating as the weather was quite changeable during the week. The area is scenic and you are literally within the Lincolnshire Wolds, having access to a number of sites to see in Lincoln as well as sites at the coast. We would absolutely recommend The Sett to others and could easily come back again. Thank you so much, Ingrid and James, for everything. You've been wonderful! We wish you ongoing success! Harris

However, if you have to be snowed in anywhere, The Sett is a good place to be - cosy, comfortable and with caring and attentive owners checking on us now and then. A wonderful escape from reality. This was our third time at The Sett and we will be back in the autumn for birding and grandchilding. It really is a wonderful place to stay. • "Extremely comfortable: Ingrid and James had thought of almost everything and the cottage was very warm and welcoming, a haven from the freezing weather outside."

The location is superb: quiet, with wonderful country views, yet very close to main roads (which you can't hear at all) so easy to access. You can walk for miles right from the front door and the best of Lincolnshire, including Lincoln itself, the coast and, of course, the Wolds are within an easy drive. There are good supermarkets not far away, plus excellent farm shops and markets. The welcome pack was a delightful surprise. I wasn't expecting Cleethorpes to have such a wonderful beach and there are good walks up and down the coast from there, as well as glorious country walks inland. Make sure, though, that you take good, stout walking boots because the countryside can get muddy.

  • "Met James on day of arrival, he was very welcoming."

The cottage is in the court yard of the property but stands on its own. You share a parking area with another holiday let, but we never heard anybody. It was purely because you saw the cars that you knew they were there. A welcoming pack was inside the cottage of local produce, which was a lovely touch. All appliances had an instruction manual for ease of use. I am disabled and found the cottage very easy to manoeuvre around. The owners mobile numbers were left for us to contact them if we required help. The Sett really is an exceptional cottage with everything you could possibly want.
