  • "A lovely property in a great location, close to everything the village has but also within easy reach of all main towns, a great bus service and the bus stop is just outside the front door."

The property is first class, everything you need and really comfortable, the owners Anthony and Kirsten are just next door and are ready to help with any problems or questions you may have. If you are coming into this area for a holiday you'd be silly not to try to book this.

  • "The cottage was absolutely fantastic."

Every need catered for. Tea, coffee, milk and a bottle of bubbly on arrival. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Lovely enclosed garden for the doggie to have a little wonder. Host was very approachable and easy to deal with. Drying room was brilliant, we were able to pack a bit lighter and complete our washing with the facilities available, with 5 children it made things a bit easier! Area was great many pubs and restaurants available. Bakery was amazing. Antiques and collectibles shop in the town was great for the collectors!! All in all a pleasant stay and will certainly be returning. Thank you.

  • "Lovely cottage in a fab location."

Everything you could think of supplied and cottage was spotlessly clean. Very grateful for the tea, coffee and Prosecco - lovely touch to welcome us. My only reason for 4 stars not 5 is that there is no direct access from the cottage to the garden so because we had a dog, we had to put him on a lead, walk him around the side of the house and into the garden then stay outside with him - not ideal in the winter.

  • "The property was lovely, well maintained and very clean."

The welcome pack was much appreciated. It would have been nice to know that the garden wasn’t accessed directly from the house as I had to put the dog on a lead every time we went to the garden and as I’m an early riser taking her out at 5.00am in my pj’s was fun, especially when it was raining!!!! All said though we really enjoyed our stay thank you.

Plenty of space throughout and a great garden area for sitting out and keeping our dog safe. The cottage had everything we needed, short of nothing. Lovely to meet he owner and have a chat with him. We had no problems while we were there, but good to know he was available if needed. Would definitely stay here again. Many thanks.

Traditionally furnished. Kitchen well equipped. Would say that second double is a little snug. Great drying room for wet clothes, washing etc. Enclosed garden with picket fence. Bus stops outside which is handy, however top deck looks into bedroom so beware !!! Nice little town. Pubs, chinese takeaway, cafes, Coop. Aldi and M&S Food just outside Skegness. Great location for sea and Wolds. Beautiful beaches. A few more maps or walking books would be nice. All in all had a great holiday.

There is everything that a family needs with the relative quietness of a village setting. Only a short drive to Skegness and the shops, a real home from home.

  • "Overall good."

However, Second double bedroom with a unfold wooden door, is uncomfortably small, smaller than in a caravan. All mattresses need replacing, very uncomfortable. As we had very small children with us, aged 6,4 & 2 years, the fact that you could not access the garden other than through the front door and consequently onto the drive on a very busy noisy road was alarming. Disliked the faded pictures of flowers & hunting scenes and the dried flowers. Vacuum cleaner interior needs cleaning, was musty and smelly. Kitchen well equipment & clean but few cobwebs in bedrooms. Liked the huge handy cupboard in the hall , the induction hob and the hot shower. Access to village with 5 pubs, several eateries and handy shops was excellent. Village playground is great. Parking for two cars was at the rear of the house - no problems. We all enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Thank you also for the milk and prosecco.

Great location to lovely village with lovely walks on the doorstep. The only negatives were it was a shame the downstairs toilet was outside and the double bed mattress was uncomfortable, However, will definitely be returning especially as the price was very competitive for the area and it allowed our precious dog to enjoy it with us.

So uncomfortable and noisy, cheap mattress for the amount paid. This property was very expensive for the quality offered. Over £1200 for a week is way over priced. I suggest the owner spends a night in the second bedroom. One shower between four adults is not workable. Very dated furniture not practical for a property of this cost. Overall over priced.

The cottage was well equipped with everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable, we had taken 3 sister on holiday that all had different needs and there was plenty of space to move around, there was even games in the cupboard for them to play, lots of dvds and some outdoor games that they played with too. There was 2 pints of milk, chocolate bars, tea, coffee, sugar on our arrival, all washing detergents were provided also, it really was home from home for the sisters, they enjoyed it that much they want to go for 2 weeks next time. All the beds were comfy and clean all 3 sisters slept very well, there were towels provided for every person. We had no problems it was a very smooth booking and communication process, myself and the other support worker found this cottage was ideal for the 3 sister and the area was beautiful the village shops were friendly to us, there was some lovely walks too. This cottage is for all ages I would say but if you have little ones it’s near a main road but the garden is closed in round the back which is perfect. This gets the best rating possible from us all as the cottage is beautiful. Looking forward to next year already :)

About the location

BURGH LE MARSH

Skegness 4 miles.

The pretty town of Burgh le Marsh, surrounded by open farmland, is just four miles from the popular seaside town of Skegness. Burgh le Marsh has varied amenities, with five pubs all serving food, a butcher's, a baker's and a store. There is a lovely historic windmill and an ancient church, perched high on a hill. There is a mixture of old and new buildings, now housing several tea rooms and restaurants. It has a good road network, with very easy access to Louth, Lincoln and the coast. The nearby coastline has long, sandy beaches and sand dunes, a haven for wildlife, including a couple of seal sanctuaries, notably Donna Nook Seal Reserve to the north of Mablethorpe. This is ideal cycling country, with quiet country routes and flat terrain. The town provides a good base for touring this lesser known coastal district of Lincolnshire.
