  • "Lovely property and really nice to be on the farm."

A couple of bits that could have made the stay more comfortable would have been for some toiletries to have been provided, and some extra things in the kitchen such as cleaning spray/ cloths, more cutlery and a bottle opener. The hot tub was great! The hosts were also lovely and very accommodating for how late we booked

  • "Everything met our expectations , but we did feel there could have been saucepans with lids and a casserole dish with lid ."

We were impressed with how well the hot tub was maintained , unlike the previous cottage ( The Old Cowshed ) where the water was very cloudy.

  • "The accommodation was, fantastic - a beautiful terraced holiday home with hot tub set on a working farm."

The welcome pack was brilliant, proper tea bags and included everything you could need to keep tidy during your stay. It was fabulous being in the countryside, but a car is a must. Southwell was a short drive away, with shops, takeaways and most amenities.

  • "Had an amazing stay and celebrated my friend's birthday!"

It's a beautiful place and the cottage was amazing. The bed was so comfy we would like it know which type it is so we can purchase one ourselves! However during your stay here you do need a car as there is limited things to do in the area. In staying that - the hosts provided us with milk, coffee, tea and other house essentials and cleaning products! We loved it. Would highly recommend.

  • "It is in a lovely location but just keep in mind you will hear some noise as it is on a working farm."

The owners are on site and we’re always very friendly and helpful if we had any questions about the property or the local area. The hot tub was really nice with peace views and beautiful sunsets. Nice walks straight from the Hayloft. The cauton Beck pub serves a nice meal. If you like ales there a micro brewery called Beermats at Winkburn.

Everything provided, even extra towels for the hot tub. Be aware it is a working farm, so there are horses, dogs, ducks and chickens. Lovely comfortable bed and good Internet connection. Owners are very helpful and are just next door if you need anything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

About the location

Newark 9 Miles, Mansfield 13 Miles, Nottingham 15 Miles

Southwell is arguably one of the prettiest towns in Nottinghamshire. Many of Southwell's historic buildings and landmarks suffered during this period, with the Archbishop's Palace and Southwell Minster bearing scars from the conflict as Oliver Cromwell's troops destroyed monuments and graves for lead and other valuable materials. The stunning Southwell Minster is a splendid cathedral with one of the finest Norman naves in Europe and only a stone’s throw from the narrow high street and beautiful pubs. The town played its own role in the English Civil War. Today you can wander the grounds and check out a full programme of living history events, tours and exhibitions. Every year, Southwell plays host to two great music festivals. Gate to Southwell Festival is one of the leading folk events in the country, and as well as impressive headliners each year, visitors can also enjoy street theatre, workshops and traditional performances such as ceilidhs and morris dancing, along with sampling a great selection of fine craft ales and delicious food. Head to the The Refrectory inside Southwell Minster grounds, with magnificent views that can be enjoyed on their patio area while you enjoy their scrumptious tea and cakes! Alternatively, have a wander through Reg Taylor's Garden Centre, which features a sculpture garden, swan sanctuary, gift shop and a lovely tea rooms where you can tuck into a freshly prepared lunch or Sunday Roast.
