  • "Stayed in the Headmaster's suite with our dog for 4 nights."

A very quirky but homely cottage run by owners, the lovely Silke & Kevin. The Schoolhouse is a bit rundown but then it is a grade ll listed building with a lot of history. The accomodation was comfortable (especially the sofa and bed) and has all you need for a relaxing break or a base to explore East Yorkshire. The is a WiFi but it did seem to be a bit off and on whilst we were there. It didn't spoil our holiday though. The room was a little cold on our first night (the weather having suddenly turned and there was a strong wind blowing) but Kevin sorted us out with an oil radiator and we were soon cosy. The accomodation is not luxurious but it's clean, comfortable and affordable. We self catered but Silke can provide cooked breakfasts and evening meals which she cooks freshly each day. They also sell a variety of chutneys and other goodies which they make themselves. The couple are friendly and kind hosts and nothing seems too much trouble for them. They even offered to take our dog to the beach with their own 2 puppies! Several dog friendly pubs within about 6 or 7 miles.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the old school house."

The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, interesting to talk to. The only minor thing is the television reception is not too good. Everything else you may need was supplied down to bowls for the dog. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Thank you Kevin and Silki.

Thank you for staying with us for your anniversary treat. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you and our chats and look forward to a possible return visit. We will look into the TV reception. May we suggest to voice any problems on the spot so we can tend to them immediately. Many thanks. All the best to you both and thanks again! Silke & Kevin Property Owner
