  • "Our stay at Kings Cottage was everything we expected and more."

The photos in the site don’t actually do it justice, it’s even better. Our favourite feature was the log fire which kept us warm and cosy. Though our stay was during rain and cold weather we were never cold in the cottage - there are powerful heaters and extra plug ins but once the fire is roaring it heats the whole house. The downstairs was large for our family of three and had plenty of seating for any visitors. There are shelves of books and games to entertain and a good TV with Netflix too. We were working whilst staying at Kings and the WiFi connection was good in every room. The kitchen has everything you need and everything works well. The garden is gorgeous with a little stream at the bottom but it was a little too cold for us to enjoy. The village of a Fulbeck and the surrounding areas are welcoming and quaint. There are plenty of good walks and gorgeous pubs and artisan shops. I recommend many of the National Trust houses in the area - especially Belton. The information book lacked info on bin collections and what to put where and the cottage lacked a clothes horse ,there was one on the garden but it kept raining!) That is the only, very small, negative. We will definitely rent this cottage again. Thank you so much for a great stay.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable in the lovely picturesque village of Fulbeck. Great walks and several pubs close by. Scott and Caroline were fantastic hosts very attentive and knowledgeable re the local area nothing was too much trouble. Thank you both for a great stay.

  • "Lovely cottage in very pretty village, but perhaps we are not cut out to stay in 200 year old stone cottage when the outside temperature never got above freezing."

But our stay was ruined by a broken/unreliable toilet cistern, which was reported immediately and the owner tried to fix. However we left one day early because we felt that a combination of the cold and having to use buckets of water to flush the loo was not making for a good holiday. This was reported to the owner when we left.

Thank you for your feedback and your comments have been duly noted. The cistern issue was reported to our plumber on the day of your arrival but we weren't aware it was as much an issue until you left otherwise we would have had them attend the following day but wanted to leave you to your break. We were aware it was getting unusually cold and supplied extra heaters but would have supplied extras if asked. Property Owner

It was quite cold in the rooms with only storage heaters which we found a bit tricky to work, but that could just have been us. Overall a great base to explore Lincolnshire

  • "Characterful cottage in lovely edge of village setting."

Generous garden. Steep stairs must be mentioned in Sykes description. Yes there are steps within the property but steep stairs, high treads and difficult entry to main bedroom caused problems for my wife who has walking difficulties. Also could do with better range of internal lighting as cottage has small windows and is very dark ( especially the twin bedroom) without lights permanently on. Dark garden paths could do with better lighting as well. Very hit and miss as to effectiveness. Owners very friendly and we mentioned these problems . Hope they will be attended to.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in King’s Cottage."

The cottage was immaculately clean. The log burner and access to additional logs was a real bonus as we stayed in November. The cottage is located in a beautiful area with great walks from the doorstep and within easy driving distance to Newark and Lincoln. We highly recommended the accommodation and wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.

Highly recommend. Lincolnshire is a beautiful county with lots to do and visit. Loved Lincoln and Newark on Trent. • "This cottage was a really good find, set in a beautifully tranquil location, with its own private garden."

We were met by the owners and shown round the period cottage, very clean and cosy, with the bonus of beautiful home made scones with jam and cream waiting for us. We did use the log burner a couple of times as it turned cold at night, but it was mainly for show as the cottage was already heated by storage radiators which meant it was delightfully warm all the time. If you would like a location where you ‘can get away from it all’, then this is it. Simply sit in the garden, listen to the birds, observe the horse in the field across the stream, enjoy the tranquility. We will be booking again.
