  • "Lilac cottage was wonderful."

The cottage was warm, very clean, well equipped with comfortable beds. We had a fantastic meal at the village pub, a morning at the village fete, a visit to Lincoln Christmas market and a day out in Hull. We had a super weekend and will certainly like to return. Thank you.

So glad you enjoyed it! It would be lovely to welcome you back anytime. Sarah Property Owner

  • "It was a comfortable /clean cottage in a nice friendly village."

But does not work for five adults, only four chairs and a stool if dining in, and only four chairs if sitting outside. That aside it was an enjoyable break

  • "Lovely cottage in a lovely quiet village."

Plenty to see and do in surrounding areas. Handy shop, friendly people, nice children's play area nearby. Mobile fish and chips van came mid-week. Would stay again.

  • "It was disappointing that my children were subject to racist abuse at the local pub “inn on the green”."

Therefore we didn’t go back to the pub. The cottage was lovely and the villagers were friendly but I couldn’t recommend the area due to the abuse.

  • "I had a wonderful long stay in Lilac Cottage with my two young children."

The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything that we needed. It was cosy yet had more than enough space for us all with two big double bedrooms and a third single. The bed was really comfortable and the cottage was well stocked with cleaning products and other necessities when we arrived. Great location in the beautiful village of Ingham with some lovely walks on the doorstep. Highly recommended.

  • "A charming cottage that met our needs, it was warm and comfortable and the location in the village is excellent."

Just a couple of negatives, the cottage is not suitable for anybody who is a little unsafe in their balance, the stairs are very steep with narrow treads, and the steps (level changes) are significant and can catch you out. It would also have been nice to have been welcomed onto the premises as we have in the past, but I guess the COVID-19 rules mitigate against that occurring.

  • "Small but nice, ideal for 2 or a small family."

The stairs are slightly steeper than a post-war house but otherwise ok. Beds are comfortable but no hanging space in bedroom 2. We found it to be a warm house, the lounge is comfortable but we did have a bit of trouble with the TV as programs are only available via a Firestick so no local news or weather. The Inn on the Green pub is great with tasty food and friendly staff as is the Dambusters pub at Scampton. Did not try the The Black Horse.

  • "Cottage was perfectly clean all over which was nice in these times."

It was exceptionally well equipped. The beds and pillows were ultra comfortable. The whole experience far exceeded our expectations and would have no hesitation in booking again. Lovely holiday all round. The local pub the Black Horse was super friendly with excellent food and drink.
