  • "Our third visit to the Dairy Barn and we couldn’t wish for a better place to stay."

Ideally situated for Lincoln and the wider Lincolnshire countryside

  • "The accomodation and host themselves was excellent."

It was a perfect stay! However. booking through Sykes is not a good idea. I could have got it £600 cheaper if I had booked through Air BnB. Book through Air BNB, avoid using Sykes.

  • "This is the best cottage we have ever stayed at with Sykes Cottages."

The owners had thought of everything. They were excellent hosts and provided nice thoughtful touches like the welcome pack with bread, milk, wine and other local produce. The location was great for visiting Lincoln. We took the park and ride bus to the cathedral and castle and then walked down Steep Hill to the centre. We visited RAF Coningsby and did the tour of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Hangar and the International Bomber Command Centre Museum at Lincoln. Both were very interesting and moving. Whilst sat out at the cottage the Red Arrows flew over practising and we were thrilled to watch their display. All in all it was an excellent holiday and we would highly recommend the cottage.

Thank you so much for your fabulous comments they are very much appreciated. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Dairy Barn and thoroughly delighted to meet you all, hopefully we may welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday."

The cottage is extremely well equipped with far more equipment than a typical holiday home. Very comfortable with good sized rooms. The owners are on site to deal with any questions or problems (not that we had any) though not in any way obtrusive. Excellent welcome gifts provided, including basic provisions and some little extras. Well located less than 10 miles north of Lincoln, in a peaceful village ideal for the quiet break we were looking for. There are two pubs in the village, although we only made use of one as it is directly across the road from the cottage with good food and friendly staff. Recently installed hot tub is excellent and the icing on the cake.

  • "We stayed for 6 nights and it was for my husbands 60th birthday celebration."

Due to the lockdown we had been unable to celebrate as planned so it was important to find somewhere special. Straight away on arrival we knew that the cottage was perfect. We have used Sykes cottage a number of times however the Dairy Barn exceeded all expectations and the photographs do not do the cottage justice. From the friendly welcome of the owners/hosts to the most generous welcome pack we felt we would enjoy the holiday. The cottage is very well equipped with everything and more that you would require for living home from home. Lots of thoughts and extras to ensure the stay is as comfortable as it could be. Its large, roomy and comfortable. The outside sun trap is great for sitting and having breakfast and enjoying the quiet and village life, the most amazing hanging baskets adorn the whole of the cottage as well os the owners house. A hot tub was being delivered on the day we were leaving, I'm sure this will be most perfect in the setting as there is also a downstairs shower for use after being in the hot tub. A pub within a minutes walk and a local village shop only enhance the experience and everyone so pleasant and friendly. Secure parking within the grounds and an electric gate is just added benefits. Watching the red arrows practice overhead whilst having breakfast just adds to the experience.
