  • "Beautiful and stylish interior."

A little attention to detail in kitchen equipment required ie pans need replacing and a few extras like teapot and casserole dishes required.

  • "If there were a 5* listing for cottages, The Forge would be right up there."

Extremely well equipped with nothing but quality and taste, very comfortable and warm and parking right outside the gate. TV a small challenge but simple after the first use. Wonderful shower , very comfy bed and incredibly quiet. A 25 min bus ride to Lincoln city centre and a 2 min walk to the Inn on the Green where excellent meals are served.

  • "A truly lovely holiday home for two."

It had everything you could possibly want. The village of Ingham is very pretty and the local shop is well stocked and everyone is really friendly. A real village atmosphere. Just note that the opening times for the two pubs is very limited, but The Dambusters down the road in Scampton is open and serves food lunch time and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday. The owner is easy to contact and responds in a very timely manner.

Spacious, clean and well equipped. Everything you need in a very pleasant environment. Great communication with MJ the owner. Lovely pub nearby, not open every day but when it is you can see it's a centre for the village. Do visit the Inn on the Green. We would definitely stay here again

  • "This is a beautiful cottage, well designed and stylishly decorated."

It was a perfect layout for us, compact with easy access to all areas. Mary-Jane has done a great job with this property, she should feel very proud. The kitchen has everything needed for a stay with a very spacious breakfast bar giving plenty of room for preparation and eating. The lounge area is great with a huge television, having Netflix and Now TV is great too, although the internet did occasionally dip but it wasn’t a big deal. The bedroom has a very comfy bed with an en-suite shower room. The shower is a good size, loved the sliding door. The weather was warm and sunny so being able to sit in the garden was brilliant. The locals are a friendly bunch especially the owner of the mini mart, I had quite a chat with him. His shop is well stocked with a good variety of items. On the Saturday we were staying the Cheese and Bread man had his van parked up in the village hall car park. His sesame bloomer and cinnamon swirls were excellent and were selling fast. It was lovely to chat with the villagers who were queuing up to buy his bread. The whole village is very attractive with lovely village greens, plus two pubs. I’d recommend the Inn on the Green they have two outside areas to sit in plus the bar area is very pleasant too. The Black Horse, although only a few paces away from The Forge, isn’t as friendly, we weren’t that keen on the place. We enjoyed walking our dog around the village, there’s plenty of different routes to take. During our stay we visited The Dambusters Inn in Scampton, only a couple of miles or so down the road and well worth a visit. Great memorabilia on the walls plus good beer and even better food. We also had a day out at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, we really enjoyed it plus the icing on the cake was seeing and hearing the Lancaster taxiing, a fantastic experience. So all in all we had a very good holiday, would definitely consider returning. Another lovely property from Sykes, thank you.

Place was beautifully decorated. 2 pubs in walking distance. Beautiful country walks on the door step. Owner Mary Jane kept in touch with us and we actually met whilst she was cleaning the other cottage. Not a lot of tourist stuff around however perfect for a chilled out holiday

  • "The Forge was a great property for a short stay."

The location in this lovely village was excellent and very quiet despite being close to the road. The enclosed garden area although overlooked was really useful as we had a dog with us, and there were some brilliant clean walks right on the doorstep. The accommodation and equipment was all adequate for 2 people, but the bathroom washbasin was a challenge for anything other than handwashing. Would definitely recommend this property for singles or couples.

  • "This was a lovely cottage."

Very well equipped and comfortable. The heating needed to be turned up and because it was underfloor heating the owner sent out the electrician and was quickly sorted. Very good service. Handy off road parking and a lovely pub Inn on the green just 3/4 min walk away. Saw the Red Arrows quite a few times which was amazing. The Dambusters pub 3 mile away is good for real ale and lovely meals. Lincoln well worth a visit, the park and ride is useful. Nice parks and local walks.

  • "The property is self catering therefore disappointed with the lack of cooking pans."

The only thing we really had was a very poor quality frying pan or some trays to put in the oven. Also the plates were not best suited to the dishwasher and the built-in fridge needs attention as the cupboard it occupies was broken as was the kick board.

Thank you for our 100.% feedback score. I only wish you had made us aware of this as we would have rectified the issues and replaced the fryer pan during your stay, Property Owner

The owner had renovated the property to a very high standard and put lots of thought into it, right down down to the little details. The property is set in a lovely quiet village, but is near enough to Lincoln and other attractions in the area. I can also recommend a visit to both of the village pubs.

  • "What a gorgeous cottage!"

So peaceful and relaxing, my dog and I had such a good stay that we’ve booked twice more. Everything was perfect, the bed was extremely comfortable, and there is a blind over the skylight that works great to keep the light out in the morning. There’s lots of great dog walking spots close by, including one just a few minutes walk away. The garden is big enough for a dog to run free, and is very secure. I loved it there, and couldn’t have picked a better cottage. Can’t wait to go again!

For example: Egg cups Bread bin Fruit bowl Pyrex dishes Another mug, only 3 Double up on cutlery because if you use the dishwasher you soon run out. Plus a big help would be a blind over the door window. Just adds a bit more privacy. Adding these would make staying at the cottage even more comfortable.

  • "We had a great stay at the Forge!"

The place was immaculate and the interior was really modern and gorgeous. It's a short 10-15 minute drive to Lincoln City centre and the drive is through beautiful countryside. The only suggestion we would make is for the skylight in the bedroom to have some sort of blind or curtain - as soon as the sun comes up in the morning the room is filled with daylight. But aside from that we really enjoyed ourselves and would love to return when we're next in Lincoln!

Thank you for your lovely comments. The blind has been installed over the roof lantern in the bedroom, so it’s stays nice and dark, Property Owner
