  • "Loved everything about the property and the location."

Only suggestion to improve it would be a gate at the end of the patio decking. Anyone with pets or young children would then be assured they could not get out of site. But I would recommend the property.

Kitchen cupboard handles need some attention. I don't believe there are HDMI cables in order to be able to use the hd player or Xbox

Lovely clean lodge well situated and comfortable would book again only little negative Kettle was full of lime scale I bought a descaler and it should be ok for a while but would recommend a new kettle Thank you for a lovely break

  • "Property was comfortable and adequately furnished."

The oven is looking "tired" and some items could do with being replaced but it did the job for us. Beds and sofas were comfortable. There are no facilities on the site but we found it quiet and relaxing. The steps from the property to the front are quite a drop so worth considering for anyone with mobility issues.

  • "A well equipped lodge which was a lot larger than expected."

Our two daughters loved the space the lodge had to offer and the woodland setting. The only drawback we had was the lack of entertainment at night as the TV reception was a bit hit and miss. We assume the lack of any board games and the play station remote in the lodge is due to Covid restrictions. Worth also mentioning that the lodge had a musty smell when we arrived and we had to sir the place for a few days. Other than this we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to return

We're very glad you enjoyed your stay, and very pleased you came back again. We are still under restrictions for the DVDs and games due to COVID19- we actually have piles of them waiting for when we can replace them! In the meantime we have had the TV aerial attended to so hopefully this will improve the TV watching for your return visit. We do provide passes to the local Leisure Centre in Louth which has a wide assortment of activities on offer as well as a very good pool for children and adults. Property Owner

  • "The lodge is big and roomy and set in the most lovely of place so peaceful and a treat to go for walks around It is a relaxing place However although the lodge was roomy and was really nice we had to go around with a duster and polish as there were cobwebs in almost most of the corners of the lodge and thick dirty ones the skirting boards were very dusty and down on the floors in the corners were dirty and were in a need of a good clean ."

I fill the cleaners seem to spend to much time sanitizing door handles sides and bathrooms and seem to leave the places where germs do harbour .Also the sofas in the lodge were to low and were uncomfortable and being two in our party suffer from Arthritis this caused a big problem as they could not get up from the sofa due to it being so low down .Also the tv kept dropping out due to the aerial being tangled up in the pine tree . There were 3 or 4 light bulbs blown and the spare ones that were left in the cupboard were not the right ones for replacing These are just little problems that can be sorted to make the stay a Red Kite Lodge even better and give it a 5 star review .

Thank you for your feedback, we apologise for the problem with the light in the cabin and have since had the fittings changed and one or two other improvements made to the lighting. We're pleased that you otherwise enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

The woods are kept tidy and safe with new activities - Back 2 Bear - the children and adults loved this! We visited Hardys Farm and we all loved feeding the animals! The kids and piglets stole our hearts. The new shop onsite is also a great addition to what was already a super relaxing holiday experience.

The lodge was way better than we expected from the pics only negative comments are large rugs in living room and dining room as walked on moved into lumps and we tripped on them hence the men had to keep pulling them straight no nasty accidents thankfully

  • "The lodge was very nice, we would go again but certain things need an update or refurbish."

These include the kitchen, en-suite shower and the heating. Given that extra time was needed for cleaning due to COVID 19, we were disappointed to find cobwebs and deep dust behind the TVs and light fittings although overall the lodge was clean and tidy. WiFi reception was good, we had know problems streaming films on a laptop.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Red Kite Lodge - quiet, tranquil surroundings and comfortable accommodation."

It was a pleasant surprise to find a dishwasher, and Mike made sure there was a travel cot and high chair for us which was very convenient. The passes to the leisure centre were great (particularly with the wet weather) - our 5yr old loved the pirate slide and flume. WiFi is fine for browsing the web but it’s a bit patchy if you’re hoping to stream videos.

  • "We really enjoyed our short break away."

The Lodge was lovely, very comfortable and in great surroundings. The only things I would criticise are the mattresses which would be better if they were now replaced. They are now a bit worn and not so supportive. There is neither a washing machine or a freezer in the lodge which, whilst we managed, it could be a problem for some people. The Lodge owner, Mike, was very nice to deal with and was very apologetic when we had construction machinery moving back and forth one day, right in front of our lodge. He offered us a small refund as a goodwill gesture. Other than these few points, we had a great stay. With some great days out, in the local area.
