  • "We had a lovely holiday at Great Leap."

The cabin was very warm, clean and homely. Everything is provided for a great stay. The location is perfect with lovely views from all the windows. We loved going into Louth (a 5 minute drive away) which has lots of lovely little shops, pubs. cafes and places to eat. Our only slight issue was the front door, very stiff and seems to stick at the bottom!! This did not in any way spoil our perfect holiday. Thanks for providing a fantastic holiday home. Three generations of the Hatton Family, Janet, Ellen and William x x

We are so pleased to hear you had a lovely holiday at Great Leap, and thank you for taking the time to write your kind and positive review. It gives us a lot of pleasure to know a guest has enjoyed their stay up at the cabin. Many apologies for the front door being stiff. We will ask our carpenter to go and sort out the problem straight away. Thank you :) Property Owner

  • "I think that the decking is being attended to this winter."

May I suggest a hand rail is added to the stairs for elderly guests; my parents struggled a little bit. Excellent cabin nonetheless, amazing TADIS in the woods.

We’re so pleased you enjoyed staying at Great Leap and thank you for your kind feedback! As stated in the information folder, as part of our cycle of maintenance the decking is being refurbished in our closed season. We are also having a handrail fitted to assist guests. Hopefully this wasn’t too much of an inconvenience to you. Property Owner

  • "An absolutely lovely property in a quite and peaceful location."

We have now visited this property twice and enjoyed both weeks at the property. The only downside, is that it receives a poor mobile network signal (at least across two networks) so contact with the "outside world" is unpredictable should you need to contact family or friends. The included wifi network is also poor, as it also uses a recognised mobile provider, so this form of communication is also unpredicatable. Apart from that, a recommended property.

We are so pleased you have visited Great leap again and had another enjoyable holiday. Thank you for your kind feedback. Regarding telecoms, the main issue is that we are in a wood, and the nearest mast is the other side of a hill. Constantly we are looking to improve the internet connection, along with the other lodge owners, but it is a challenge. I use an iPhone with EE as a provider and I can use my phone 24/7 with no problems, but my husband finds it more difficult with his phone on EE, but he has a BlackBerry!!! We also have few issues with using Netflix etc when there are just the two of us, so possibly larger groups using media create more of a challenge. I do assure you though that we are constantly looking at ways to address this. Property Owner

  • "Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful lodge."

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only suggestion i have is to add a handrail on the steps leading to the doorway. We had both our elderly mums with us and they struggled a little up and down with having no handrail to hold onto. Lovely location and good base to visit local attractions from. Would certainly stay again!

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Great Leap, and thank you for your kind feedback. We were sorry to hear your elderly parents struggled with the steps a little and hope this didn’t cause too much inconvenience. Many thanks for suggesting we add a handrail. This is a very good idea, and we are now in the process of finding a carpenter to carry out the work. We would love to welcome you again at Great Leap in the future UPDATE DECEMBER 2023 - a handrail has now been fitted along with refurbished decking. Property Owner

A lovely lodge in a great spot on kenwick park We enjoyed our stay and loved the log fire as an added bonus through the winter months Would recommend it family and friends One slight issue was not enough hot water for two showers if using hot water through day and temperature on shower not hot enough so didn’t get chance to use jacuzzi bath

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, and we are very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Great Leap over the Christmas period. We are sorry to hear you had some issues with the hot water, and we have asked the servicing team to look in to this to check everything is ok. Property Owner

  • "Excellent property in a lovely setting."

Only negative point was the poor stregnth of the wifi. This combined with difficulties in getting a mobile signal in the wooded area meant that communication with the outside world was very sporadic.

Lovely to hear you enjoyed staying at Great Leap, and found the woodland setting to your liking. Sadly the issues with the WiFi are a consequence of being in the middle of woodland. With just two of us staying there we don’t have issues, and can easily use Netflix and get good internet connection, but clearly it is more challenging with larger groups. The landline for WiFi gave a weaker signal, so only recently we’ve moved to a mobile WiFi connection. Property Owner

  • "We had a bit of a job to find cabin 83 on our 1st entry as it wasn’t signposted that well."

Also the main gate code number given on our e-mail was incorrect. A bit frustrating as we kept trying. Fortunately someone arrived and had a different code number that worked. We used this for the rest of our stay. Wi-Fi wasn’t brilliant. Overall though the place was 1st class and we would stay again for sure.

Many apologies for the difficulties you had at the barrier and locating Great Leap. I shall check with Sykes as to what information they are sending out to guests. We have been there only today and the same barrier code I have issued Sykes with was working perfectly well for us. On the information to send out to guests there is a google search and a full description on how to locate the lodge. Again I do apologise for any inconvenience and frustration this caused you during your stay, and I shall contact Sykes. Thank you Property Owner

  • "The log cabin was ideal for a peaceful relaxing holiday, it was well presented, very comfortable and had everything that you needed, the only problem that we had was with the very slow internet, we had our two teenage grandchildren with us and they rely on this media, this also affected the tv such as netflix."

This would not stop me coming back and would recommend the cabin to our family and friends.

It is lovely to know you enjoyed your holiday at Great Leap, and thank you for your kind review. We’re sorry you found the internet slow. We are at the moment along with other lodge owners looking in to trying mobile broadband which might allow us to achieve faster internet speeds and reliability within the woods. Property Owner

The only issue we had was the heaters. Some evenings there was an autumnal nip in the air and although we read the instructions we failed to get them working.

Thank you for your feedback, please accept our apologies for the complexity of the heating instructions, we only wish you had contacted us as we would have been happy to help you with this, please note that in November we will be adding a log burner fitted in the property for all future guests to enjoy.
