). It was very clean and well equipped and the beds were comfortable. A lot of thought has gone into it. It is in a great central location, with easy access to the Cathedral, Castle, shops and services in the historic Cultural Quarter. On street car parking is restricted in the immediate local area Monday to Saturday during the day, although there are some uncontrolled on street car parking spaces on James Street itself, outside/close to the house and we were fortunate and managed to get an on street car parking space close to the property, early evening a few hours after arrival. Up to date instructions for operation of the central heating would have been helpful. For a house of this size, quality and standard, it is deserving of a more comprehensive welcome pack. I would recommend the property to friends and family and hope to return one day, for the experience, and to explore the places we didn't have time to see on a short break.

The property

A Grade II listed Georgian townhouse set in the heart of Lincoln, 20 yards from the Cathedral and a one minute walk away from the Bailgate with all its shops and restaurants.

This property has a real sense of character and charm throughout with views of the Cathedral from the front and from the rear of the house.

Enter into the cosy sitting room with its comfortable sofa and woodburner, as well as exposed stonework.

You will look forward to returning home after a long day and relaxing in front of the TV.

The kitchen diner is a lovely place to prepare meals each day, and everyone can gather together in the evening for some family time.

The cellar has been converted into a small snug room to keep the children entertained, and provides a comfortable set up for some quiet time with a good book.

Take the stairs up to the next floor where you will find one double bedroom and one king-size double bedroom; one with a basin, whilst the second has an aesthetic fire and a dresser.

The family bathroom is nicely decorated and holds a bath with a shower over.

The second floor houses two single beds with pleasant views of Lincoln Castle to the outside, and a cloakroom lies nearby.

Outside, you can rest in the enclosed courtyard, perhaps with a refreshing drink, or enjoy some alfresco dining.

Lincoln has great shopping with quaint independent shops in the cathedral quarter, and medieval sites to visit.

Take a visit to Lincoln Castle, which has had extensive renovations in the last couple of years and houses the Magna Carta.

Well worth a visit!

Other local attractions include Doddington Hall, Whisby Nature Park, Hartsholme Country Park, Lincolnshire's transport museum and Woodside Wildlife and Falconry Park.

A traditional Georgian townhouse not to be missed.
