  • "I booked this property for a pretty long stay, my partner from the United States was visiting and wanted to finally experience the Holderness region for the first time as it's my home borough."

She and I have a fondness for staying in properties that have character, that reside in a quiet communities out in the countryside and this is how we found our interest in Ryeby Garth located in Skeffling. (Personal Highlights) It served all of our needs as a long comfortable and quiet stay through some fairly cold conditions. The oil central heating more than sufficient enough along with the choice of decor in the property to keep you feeling warm and cozy. Other conveniences we highlighted included a fast and reliable Wi-Fi which was used for my fire stick whenever we wanted to stream films or series. Both a coal fire and wood stove was enjoyed too which was supplied with an ample amount of coals and timber offcuts, firelighters also provided in case if you struggle. It gave us a rememberable experience, one that we may revisit again in another season. The hosts were extremely helpful and prompt whenever we had any queries or issues. Highly recommend staying at Ryeby Garth if you're ever pondering an adventure in the Holderness region and beyond.

thank you for your detailed feedback, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay, we hope you adventure with us again in the future. Property Owner

The area is flat and quiet , great for bike rides and enjoying the peaceful landscapes and amazing skies. We took several bags of logs for the open fire and we’re glad thar we did as the weather was very cold whilst we were there. There was a good central heating system but the house went very cold once it was switched off . Hope to return to this delightful spot and lovely cottage which we recommend.

Plenty of crockery and cutlery and a great welcome pack for us and the dog - thank you!. Lots to do around the nearby area, dog walks from the door and an easy drive to Beverley and Hull. Owners really helpful and quick to respond to questions, but unobtrusive. We hope to return for a longer stay soon.

  • "We found the cottage nicely decorated inside, very clean and very comfortable."

Loved the garden which backs onto fields where we watched hares. Plenty of birds and lots of birdsong. 15 minutes’ drive to Spurn Point. Only (slight) downsides were the steepness of the stairs (but there’s a good handrail to hold onto), a bit of black mould around the bath/shower, and as it is semi-detached there was a little noise from next door. Generally very quiet though and we slept well! The wifi wasn’t working for most of our stay although we had a few hours when it came back. This was a BT/Openreach issue beyond anyone’s control, just unlucky for us!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay. We are pleased you found the cottage clean and comfortable and you experienced the joys of our rural location. It was extremely unfortunate that you experienced issues with the WiFi, this was reported promptly and fixed within 48 hours, as you said this was an issue beyond our control. Just a shame you where only visiting for a short time. We would love to host you again if you return the area. Property Owner
