We accidentally dropped the key to the barn, without realising, in a pub car park at night and were locked out. The owner was on holiday abroad and we could not get hold of the maintenance guy. We were in a bit of a panic. So we phoned Sykes Cottages late at night. Mark tried to make contact with the owners, or anyone who might have a spare key. But he kept us in the loop, phoning us back every ten minutes or so. Eventually he arranged for a hotel nearby that would take us (and the dog! ). The Hotel ( Bull in Horncastle) was most obliging also. Luckily we retraced our steps and found the key in the car park the next morning (phew!) The the maintenance man appeared in the morning also ( though did not have a key)/ Of course it was our fault for being careless. But it was great there was someone to help us like Mark. The barn itself was spotless, must have been recently done up, it was very well appointed - even had a charging shelf!. Location was great. It was every bit and better than the photos and description on the website. Location was great also for exploring area.
