"Overall the accommodation was good and the location excellent."
As I had booked the property I told my travelling companion (old school friend) that she could have the double room downstairs and I was quite happy to sleep in one of the single beds upstairs. This was clearly better suited to children, which was not mentioned in the description. The beds were small singles and although I am short and not particularly heavy, I found the mattress to be very uncomfortable with the springs digging in and it was also very “wobbly”. The first night’s sleep was terrible and the second was marginally better after I created a mattress topper by using two blankets and the duvet from the spare single bed.
The mattress on the double bed downstairs was much better but you might consider purchasing better quality bed linen as the poly cotton bedding was rather tired and a bit bobbly.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the accommodation overall and found the location excellent.
Regarding the upstairs bedroom, the beds there are standard single beds which can be clipped together to form a double, as described in the property listing. Had we known that a double bed would have been preferable, we would have been very happy to arrange this for you, and we could also have provided a mattress topper. As we live next door, we’re always glad to help with requests during a guest’s stay whenever possible.
We’re sorry to hear that you found the mattress uncomfortable. We haven’t received comments about the size or quality of the mattresses previously, but we always appreciate feedback and will certainly look into this as we continue to improve things for our guests.
Thank you as well for mentioning the bedding. We have checked our linen stock following your comment and have replaced the item you referred to.
We aim to ensure that the property description accurately reflects the accommodation and that the cottage is presented to a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for our guests. We’re always grateful for feedback that helps us review and improve things where needed.

"A beautiful barn in a quiet village."
Immaculate decor and furnishings, a cosy log burner and efficient heating contributed to an enjoyable stay. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and modern bathrooms. The additional freezer was a useful addition and the starter log pile was generous. Would highly recommend Church Barn, it’s much cosier than the photos suggest. My only recommendation is to leave done cleaning products to use on check out.
Thank you for your lovely review, we're happy to hear you enjoyed your Christmas at Church Barn. We'll definitely replenish the cleaning supplies, sorry we didn't notice and thank you for looking after the property so well. We hope to see you again soon!

"Church Barn was immaculate, high quality accommodation in a delightfully quiet village setting."
We enjoyed the ambiance of the building, beautiful laid out with great attention to detail and finish.
The log burner was a real treat on one chilly evening (regrettably only once!) and the rest of the amenities were top notch, from the amazing walk-in shower to the comfy bed and storage.
The porch / cloak room which was also
housing freezer was very convenient too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for leaving us a review, it was good to have you stay at our cottage and we're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday. We hope to welcome you again soon!

"Myself, partner and pooch very much enjoyed our stay in Church Barn."
The accommodation was clean and comfortable. We always take our own throws for furniture but there were blankets provided if you don't remember your own. Lots of useful information provided regarding the accommodation, local area and places of interest. We took our own provisions as there's no local shop to walk to, cleaning stuff was provided along with kitchen roll. The only thing we couldn't seem to find were tea towels, but that's the only tiny fault I can come up with! It doesn't have a garden, but does have a table and chairs nestled at the front of the property and this proved to be a lovely area to catch the late evening sun with a glass of wine. It's set in a very quiet village with an excellent pub, booked a table in advance of our arrival on Sunday for a huge and delicious roast (not open on Mondays) and ideally located for day trips out. We stayed for two nights and felt that we could easily have stayed for longer. It's not often that we both agree that we would return to somewhere, but we have with this place, as we all were relaxed and chilled.
