  • "We've stayed in a few places all around the UK and enjoyed ourselves, but Fair Lea Barn was something else."

It's a beautiful converted barn, very luxurious yet very homely. We received a lovely welcome hamper on arrival and settled into the place easily. It was clean, bright and offered everything a family could ever image they would need and much more. The bedrooms were comfortable, beds and linen lovely quality. The bathrooms were delightful and the whole place gave us a sense of space and relaxation. We were a family of three generations holidaying together and we were never on top of each other. Lots of space, beautiful gardens and a lovely area to explore. The owners were friendly and informative. We all thoroughly enjoyed the week at Fair Lea Barn and would've happily stayed for longer. We are already looking at dates to return. Everything was as described, but with extra. Thank you having us and hope to be back soon.

  • "It’s not easy to get a 4 bedroom cottage at a reasonable price so we were pleased to find Fair Lea Barn for our annual old school friends trip."

Well appointed and comfortable, the milk, bread and other treats were most welcome. There’s also plenty of parking which is important with larger properties. One minor issue was rectified within an hour and communication with the owners was excellent. We had a lovely relaxing weekend and would definitely recommend Fair Lea Barn.

  • "A great property, spacious, clean and very comfortable especially for only two of us."

Felt the owners really cared about us and our stay. The only comment I would like to make is that considering the amount of beds and therefore people it can accommodate the seating provided in the lounge and its layout I think could be problematic if fully occupied. For us it was perfect and this is probably the best holiday let we have had and would not hesitate to recommend it highly to anyone thinking of renting it.

  • "We stopped at fair Lea barn for 7 days it was better than described in the listings."

We had a wonderful time there, being in the middle of September the weather was a mixed bag and we traveled to a few places in the daytime and settled in on the evenings at the house with plenty to do there plenty of games and books to read, when the sun was out and nice and warm we relaxed outside on the patio. We would highly recommend visiting fair Lea Barn and hope to return in the future. The hosts Jo and Graham left us lovely flowers and groceries for when we arrived and was on hand if we needed them. After arriving home I realised I’d left my remote control and contacted Jo who said she would post it on to me. Thank you both for letting us share your wonderful property. The Barn is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and showers excellent. We had great weather and we’re able to sit out in the garden on the comfortable garden furniture. The owners are on hand if you need anything, we had no problems, but it’s nice to know help is there if you need it. We would definitely recommend the Barn and hope to return soon. Thank you Jo and Graham for sharing your lovely Barn with us. Ann & Colin.

The property was well equipped and maintained with a huge garden in a peaceful setting. We loved our day trips and thoroughly enjoyed our evenings in the garden watching the birds, rabbits and squirrels. Jo and Graham were quick to respond to any questions and provided a generous welcome pack with flowers. We met both of them during our stay and they were delightful people.

  • "Fair Lea Barn is spotlessly clean, lovely and spacious, with nice furniture a well equipped kitchen, and a lovely comfy bed upstairs in the main suite, there's also a garden and large patio to sit outside."

I had a couple of problems, the spiral staircase is really narrow and hard to navigate, so I took my luggage up the outside stairs which made it easier. Also the fridge/freezer periodically heated up which spoiled food and put me off using it. The hosts were very pleasant, they upgraded the internet for me so I had no problem with connectivity for browsing etc. The Barn is in a nice part of Lincolnshire close to most things to do. I would recommend the local wildlife park where they care for rescued wildlife and are very knowledgeable. You need a car as there is nothing in the village but you don't need to go far to find what you need, I also had a takeaway delivered. There are trains at the bottom of the garden, lorries and construction next door but overall that only had a small impact on the enjoyment of my stay.

Thank you for your feedback, I would just like to respond with clarifications to a couple of points. The spiral staircase is mentioned in the property description, I have also written in the guest handbook that I am more than happy to take any luggage up to the bedroom. You didn't mention that you have difficulty with your luggage during your stay so unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to assist. The second point is the fridge freezer, developed a fault during your stay and it did spoil your perishable items but it would have been fair to mention that we reimbursed you in full for the spoilt items and there was a second smaller wine fridge to use, which you said you where happy with at the time. We do our very best to ensure that all our guests have an enjoyable and comfortable stay at Fair Lea Barn and sometimes things are beyond our control but we do our upmost to rectify these problems and ensure the customer experience is positive. I also note your feedback in the guest book which failed to mention any of the above comments, and quote: "Jo and Graham made me feel very welcome at the barn. I loved waking to bird song in the morning and stunning sunsets. Its a peaceful calm place to relax and escape from the busy world. Lovely clean air, comfy bed and space to just 'be'. Ideally located to visit all the attractions and the countryside, but also a lovely place to not go out from. Days in, Days out, Fair Lea Barn works well. Thank you. Christine x and thank you for the lovely flowers - so happy! and the eggs etc - much appreciated". Property Owner

  • "The first thing noticeable on arriving is the lack of garden, definitely a lot smaller than photos have you believe, i'd say by a good half."

To the side is a building site, generally starting work about eight, there was no mention of such as any update to info given on website. There is also no mention of the railway line running through just beyond the bottom of the garden, trains thunder through both day and all through the night, you're meant to feel refreshed and recharged after a holiday, not after this one!! The barn itself was spacious and clean, although mattress in master bedroom was very much..roll together..and rather stained, could do with being replaced. Would i return, recommend, no.

Hi there, The garden hasn't been halved. We have re-established the correct boundary which is now defined by a traditional Lincolnshire oak fence and hawthorn hedging. There is building work next door, which is our property. These works will be completed very soon, so far no other guests have had cause to be upset by the works, which have been and continue to be limited to normal working hours only, apologies for any inconvenience caused during your stay. There is a railway line, opened in 1847 at the far boundary of the property. The train line is a minor branch line with approximately 8-10 trains per day depending on time of year. We have not received any other negative remarks about the trains , only positive comments especially from guests with children. The mattress are inspected on a weekly basis and we could not locate any stains, the softness may be a personal preference as we have had no other complaints. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "Fair Lea Barn was just as advertised, a top notch rural stable conversion in Lincolnshire, out of town but near enough to all amenities."

With all mod cons and everything you could wish for in a holiday home. The owners were not on your doorstep but near enough to help with any concerns. Lincoln has a lot to offer as a holiday destination especially with all of its history, its crowning jewel being Lincoln Castle dating back well over a thousand years. We enjoyed our stay. The only point of criticism we had was the building work going on in the house next door. To compensate for that the owners invited us for a complementary stay next year! Which we were delighted to accept. This is above and beyond what anyone could expect, and just goes to show the type of people you are dealing with. Thank you Jo and Graham we are very much looking forward to our stay next year.

We were 7 adults and loved the spaciousness of Fair Lea Barn both inside and out. Everything was quality from the generous Welcome Box, together with beautiful flowers that lasted the whole week, to the quality furniture and fittings. The spiral staircase is perhaps a bit of a problem having to manoeuvre cases through the gap. Another toilet on the ground floor would be very, very useful as once downstairs 7 using one bathroom including toilet and shower facilities had to be carefully negotiated at times. Nevertheless we wouldn’t hesitate in returning to this beautiful accommodation so close to Lincoln and would definitely recommend it to others.
