This was reported to the pool caretaker and we were advised that the tubs are old. The second night it just failed to heat up enough to be able to use it, so by the 3rd night we had given up on it The hot tub was the main reason we booked this lodge so were a bitdisappointed. We would book again, but maybe at a lodge with a fully functioning tub.

Efficiency of the site staff was great our recycling was gone every morning we put it out the bins were emptied regularly and hot tub was cleaned virtually every morning also. Had a thoroughly enjoyable time and will definitely be back!

  • "We booked this lodge mainly for the hot tub, which was Luke warm and not enjoyable."

Reported and was told it was set up ready and basically made to feel like it was our problem! The maintenance guy came the next day and confirmed that the hot tub isn’t right and to use the neighbours.. I didn’t expect to have to be running across grass in my swimwear to use another lodges hot tub.

Broken lid to the hot tub and very hard to take off and put back on, a leak that was sorted whilst we were there, so we lost a day in the tub. We had no outside light over the tub until the Thursday, so we sat in the dark most of the week. Need new kitchen utensils, potato peeler didn't work and the smallest broken bread knife ever. Bathroom shower head holder wouldn't stay up in the bathroom and a dripping tap in the shower room. Couldn't get the TV to work and had to have maintenance come and sort it out, all controllers broken and the battery covers missing on 2 of them. No parking space by the lodge, so had to walk all our luggage and the food shopping up a long path and back again when we went home. All in all we had a lovely time stopping at the lodge but don't think we will be visiting again.

Upon enquiring we were told they knew nothing about it and these couldn’t be supplied until the following morning. Advisable to double check as we had an 8 month old baby. Linen/towels were a bit worn. Wifi intermittent.

Might be different in summer holidays. Hot tub was lovely but a bit too hot! Kitchen ill equipped to cook for 6 people the lodge holds. Only one small saucepan and two milk pans. Boiler backs onto main bedroom and droned all night until I turned down the thermostats that controlled the underfloor heating which was ok as it was warm. Great location for visiting the area. Whisby Nature park nearby is excellent just take bug repellant!

Unfortunately for us we had a power cut on the site at 17.30pm everything went black literally! We lost all power, electricity, heating, hot water, lighting, WiFi (we paid for separately) hot tub heat everything went off, cooker went off the lot! We couldn't drive anywhere as we had a drink, we have 2 teenagers and ending up with snacks to eat as the tea wasn't cooked and power gone off. We contacted the relevant people, asking what was happening, eventually we were told nothing could be done until the morning as a replacement part was needed. We were plunged into darkness and left with nothing but a tiny torch from 17.30pm - 08.45am next day, the weather was freezing that week during February too, so we basically lost a night and everything in the lodge! Nobody's fault maybe, certainly not ours who paid for five nights expecting everything to be working. On returning home we have now been told the owners of the lodge are not willing to reimburse anything for our inconvenience of totally losing an evening and night with no use of all the facilities in the lodge, oh and having our coats on all night!! So yes lovely surroundings, lovely lodge when all's well but just be mindful if you have any problems don't expect any help or compensation from the owners of this lodge as they don't want to know.
