We were visiting this area as we had a family event close by the previous weekend and were due to attend a friend's wedding in Lincoln the following weekend, so we were looking for a quiet location to have some "chill out" time in the intervening period. The cottage provided that and the area itself was lovely. Sadly, due to the coronovirus, the wedding was cancelled and in line with Government advice about social distancing and non essential travel we reluctantly decided to cut short our holiday and return home early. We'd love to return to this area and to the cottage itself at some time in the future once things have hopefully settled down again.

The property

A semi-detached, homely cottage, attached to the owner's property and situated in the tranquil village of Panton, this secluded property is ideal for families or couples wanting to escape on a peaceful getaway.

As you enter the property, there is a small entrance area, great for leaving your muddy walking boots and coats.

The well-equipped kitchen comes with all your essential utensils and a dining table that seats four people, a great place to gather and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, while exposed beams line the ceilings, bringing a cosy and country feel to the room.

The spacious living room contains two sofas and a TV, perfect for relaxing on after a busy day exploring the local area, while the woodburning stove is an attractive feature and great for snuggling up in front of on a cold winter's night.

Up the stairs is a landing that contains a comfy antique armchair and a floor lamp for reading; there is also a WC as well as a separate modern bathroom that contains a shower, heated towel rails, a sink and mirror.

The small twin bedroom features two single beds separated by a bedside table; across the hall way is the master bedroom that contains an attractive king-sized bed with high, beamed ceilings.

There is plenty of storage with a wardrobe, a desk with 3 drawers that can be used when working on a laptop or as a vanity table, a chair and a mirror above the desk.

WiFi runs throughout the property, meaning you can always stay connected in your home away from home. The large enclosed garden has great views of the surrounding, peaceful countryside.

There is a triple bench in front of the property, a picnic bench to seat 6 with parasol and a charcoal kettle bbq so guests can enjoy alfresco dining.

If you can tear yourself away from this delightful base, venture into the city of Lincoln, where you can spend an afternoon exploring the unique shops or discover the impressive cathedral.

For those feeling active, you will find the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB just three miles away from the property which is a lovely area with many great walking routes.

Alternatively, venture a little further to the East coast and spend some time at the seaside resorts of Skegness and Sutton-on-Sea.

Warren Cottage is the ultimate countryside escape for you and your loved ones.

About the location

WRAGBY

Bardney 6.5 miles; Market Rasen 8 miles; Horncastle 10 miles; Lincoln 13 miles; Louth 15 miles.

Wragby is a small town surrounded by Lincolnshire countryside, a short drive from the city of Lincoln itself. The remains of two 19th century manors, the 19th century Grade II listed church of All Saints, and a tall tower mill, built in 1831 by the millwright Ingledew. Wragby offers three friendly local pubs, a fish shop, a café, and a restaurant, with a regular bus service linking it to Horncastle and the coastal town of Skegness. Visit the butterfly garden of the nearby Chambers Farm Wood in the Bardney Limewoods National Nature Reserve, and explore the many marked trails there. Take a trip to the city of Lincoln, marvel at its impressive cathedral or potter around the many interesting shops there, or head to the coast and uncover the beauty of the east coast at the seaside resorts of Skegness and Sutton-on-Sea. A wonderful base for exploring Lincolnshire, all year round. Langton by Wragby is the birth place of Arch Bishop Stephen Langton, instrumental in the signing of the magna carta.
