  • "The property was better than expected."

So spacious warm and clean. It was a struggle to find but thanks to a local residents assistance all was made clear.

  • "Fantastic propery."

Well decorated, clean and spacious. Lots of room outside in different areas. The kids areas was brilliant and the games room. We visited in December so unfortunately couldn’t use the conservatory as it was too cold. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and left us a gift. The Christmas decorations were a lovely touch too. Super comfy king size beds and a great shower. We would definitely return and recommend.

  • "We stayed at Hallstead over the Xmas period, we arrived to find the dining table had been decorated for us including christmas crackers, a centre piece, napkins etc it really was a beautiful touch for us to walk into a long with a beautiful tree in the living room."

The whole house was spacious & very clean & there was everything there that you could think of that was needed. The only problem we found was because the house was so spacious it was hard to keep warm. We didnt use the conservatory because of how cold it was & the heating must be on a timer because it kept going over & we could feel ourselves getting cold again. I think if we could of sussed out how to use the heating properly & it to stay on it would of been better but overall we just all stayed in tbe living room & when the heating was on it was really toasty. Id definitely rarecommend a stay at Hampstead,it was a lovely relaxing break in pure comfort.

  • "Me and my family stayed here for my 30th birthday and it was amazing we will definitely book again and have been recommending that are friends and family book here too."

On the day we arrived we found that the placed had been decorated for Halloween which my daughter absolutely loved. It’s little details like this that really do make your feel appreciated. The house was exactly as advertised but some how was even better than we thought it would be. It’s the prefect place to go to get its nice and quiet but also not too far away from local attractions and also the sea front. So I would 1000% recommend to everyone.

  • "Parking an issue limited parking ,garage unusable due to inconsiderate parking."

Lack of drawer’s in main bedroom only 3 small drawers, one wardrobe in bunk bed room for all 3 bedrooms.

Hello. We would like to take this opportunity to address some of the issues you have stated in your feedback after staying at Hallstead. Please could you give us more details about any problems regarding the parking so we can correct the issues for future guests. Just to note for anyone reading the reviews, we do have space on the road for 2/3 vehicles (depending on length of vehicle) at the front of the property & space for 1 vehicle in our garage at the end of the property. If for any reason anyone has problems with access (E.g. Someone else is blocking access) please contact us directly and we will sort the issue as soon as possible. As for the lack of drawers in the main bedroom, I am not sure if you noticed the drawers in the Devan bed base, however there are four deep drawers, two either side. We do thank you for bringing that up as they do blend in so are not as noticeable and can be missed, we have thought of a way to correct this issue. The triple wardrobe in the middle room is however the only storage we have to hang clothes but all rooms have space for clothing, as much as we would like wardrobes in each room, the beds would have to be reduced from superkings to accommodate the added furniture and we have more people praise the beds than complain about the clothes storage so we will not be making any changes as regards to that. We hope you enjoyed your stay, we enjoyed having you stay with us. Thank you for choosing Hallstead & We wish you all the best. Property Owner

  • "Halstead Skegness Lovely place very nicely done out Large garden and very close to the beach Although on a main road Was ok but with small ones be very vigilant And there are steps down to the property or a very steep slope for access."

The steps are however covered with a spongey tarmac. I didn’t read the small print very well!!!! There is only one bathroom. As the accommodation is for 8 people would advise if possibly another toilet at least could be put in somewhere???? Always a bug bare with me, bathroom towels need to be larger like bath sheets. Also there could have been a few more children friendly, cups, plates etc for outside use. We enjoyed our stay here very comfortable, the conservatory space was great, along side the garden. Hot tub and sauna were great too.

  • "We were really disappointed with this stay."

As we’d only booked for 2 nights and it was advertised with a hot tub, we were hoping to be able to use it both days. However, on arrival, it was switched off and on 13 degrees so we had to wait almost 24 hours for it to get to temperature and we’re asked to not use it past 8pm and therefore barely had time to use it. It was not well equipped re towels etc (only 4 and we had 6 adults). We also were not given access to the off road parking, key fob was offered to us at 9pm the night before we left so had to park further from the property. No air hockey table as advertised. The garden is beautiful and spacious, and the property was clean on arrival, we did feel very let down by facilities as hot tub was the main reason we chose this property, won’t be returning.

First of all, thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate that you didn't enjoy your stay and we respect your decision to not return. With regards to some of the things you've said, the guest manual and instruction folder provided to all guests explains how to use and where to locate items on the property. We do however plan to provide more outdoor towels, this is a new issue as not all guests wish to use outdoor facilities. The hot tub should not have taken 24 hours to heat up, it should of taken 4 hours maximum. The temperature was probably 13 degrees because the hot tub is cleaned and has fresh water added between guest bookings so will need to warm up before use. Outdoor facilities now have a shut off time of 8pm out of respect to Hallstead elderly neighbours. As for the key fob, we was unaware the keys had been mixed with the hosts keys until you received the message asking if you needed them, we take full responsibility for the mix up. We are confused as to where you parked your car as the parking area provided to guests right in front of the house is a lot closer to the house than the off-road garage. The air hockey table is a combo, you have to spin it round to play pool (Instructions on how to use items are in the Instruction folder). All the best. Property Owner

  • "The property was great highly recommended, but I would not use Sykes again as the information in the ad was incorrect, information in the key collection email was also wrong, and I was wrongly informed of the availability certain amenities at the property."

I spoke to the owner regarding the key collection information from Sykes, he said Sykes had known of the change to the key safe combination for some time, but just hadn't bothered to update their records.
