Doune is a pretty village resting within the district of Stirling, Scotland. The village houses a medieval castle which was used as the Monty Python set. Today, it houses a 95ft high gatehouse and also boasts domestic quarters where you will find the Lord’s Hall with its carved oak screen and double fireplace. The village also houses a selection of shops, a restaurant and a café, as well as buildings of historical interest which includes the Kilmadock Parish Church and the Bridge of Teith. Within close reach is the city of Stirling, where you will find further amenities and attractions including the Royal castle, The National Wallace Monument and the golf club.
