  • "A lovely relaxing week at the lodge."

Lodge was well equipped and was great to relax in the hot tub after the days adventures, with the lovely surroundings. Owners were friendly and in touch to welcome and with suggestions aswell as being on hand if there were issues. Building work still ongoing, however didn’t bother us or the fact that a lot of cabins were unoccupied as it made for a nice quiet break.

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay Ray. You marked us down on facilities and accuracy of the listing and I’m wondering what I have missing from the lodge or the listing on Sykes? Could you drop us a text with suggestions please? Property Owner

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery yet plenty of walks locally to suit all abilities. Our daughter and teenage granddaughter joined us this visit and they loved it too. From relaxing in the hot tub to a strenuous hilly walk and strolling alongside Loch Earn I highly recommend Red Kite Lodge it really has all you’ll need and is a home from home.

Lovely property, well stocked, beautiful location, the only thing that let's it down is first impression, the side we stayed at looked like a building site but once u get pasted that the area is fantastic

Hi Stuart, thanks for your comments on the lodge. We noted the fact that the lodge park is a work in progress, in our description and that once you’re in the lodge you can’t see any of the other lodges being built. We are in constant contact with the site owners who do strive to keep the building work to a minimum and no work at all is done on weekends. I’m glad this didn’t spoil your holiday. Property Owner

The kitchen is very well equipped and the lodge is very modern. The double bedroom is a great size. The decking has a gate so dog can wander freely, which is superb. The hot tub is lovely with stunning views, very peaceful. We were visited by deer a couple of evenings. The site itself is still under construction, but once in the lodge you forget about that and the decking faces stunning views. Will book again in the future.

Thanks for the review Wendy. I’m glad you enjoyed the view, it really is special Property Owner

We really enjoyed the holiday, beautiful views and an easy walk to the Loch. Although we took loads kitchen stuff there was everything you needed so well stocked!

Thank you for the feedback Ann. I’ve been on so many self catering holidays myself where there just wasn’t enough utensils or equipment to make a decent family meal so I decided to stock our lodge accordingly and feedback like this makes my effort worthwhile. I hope you return Property Owner

We read reviews that the site was under development, but so what, that wasn't a problem for us. The Location is stunning and we enjoyed walking the dog to the Loch every morning and taking in the tranquility. The surrounding wildlife was amazing, we were so excited to see red squirrels in their natural habitat. The lodge itself was very well equipped and comfortable. We couldn't have asked for better getaway.

  • "The area Crieff and the actual cabin were very nice, well equipped and the owner was very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us."

However we were disappointed to find the plot was still a building site with only our cabin occupied. Although this may have worked in our favour as the cabin next to us was very close (especially if you wanted to relax in the hot tub without being over looked). Unfortunately we could only use the hot tub once, as it was slightly off colour with a funny smell. We did follow the instructions on two occasions to add the chemicals but it didn’t seem to clear up. The oven and dishwasher tripped whilst we were there and again no fault of the owner as we believe it may have been linked to the ongoing work on site. The owner couldn’t have done more to help and was in contact with the site manager throughout to get the problem sorted. I feel the property has good potential but we were a little disappointed with the ongoing work and the hot tub.

Dear Kelly, We do appreciate your feedback and we were aware of the issues related to the electrical supply. We are sorry you experienced problems with the hot tub. Had we known we would have taken immediate measures to resolve this in person. As you note, the site is still under development ; we are sorry this detracted from your enjoyment but we do hope you will visit again once the site has been fully completed. • "Could not fault the property itself but i think the site is not ready for paying guests as still looks like a building site."

Also we has two small dogs and one of them jumped of the side of the decking at the hot tub as nothing to stop them they needed chained up all the time. Lodge great. Views great. Site was building site

Hi Thomas thanks for your feedback. We’re happy that you found the lodge faultless and we do agree that the views are rather special. We’re sorry about the ongoing site development; this phase of the park was meant to be finished by now. The ‘building’ work relates to decking and servicing for recently delivered lodges and there should be no work ongoing in the evening. The site owners know of our frustration and would be happy for anyone to speak to them about any issues. We are supplying them with feedback. We have tried to ensure our Sykes description is accurate though we are in fact advertising our lodge rather than the park. We appreciate that you want be able to relax on the decking with the dogs beside you. The gap at the decking allows direct access to the hot tub which most guests find desirable. However we will look for some solutions. Property Owner

  • "Had a wonderful time at lodge."

It is extremely well kitted out and very comfortable. View from decking and hot tub are great and an ideal way to relax after days walking. The lodge is part of a larger site and there is ongoing works to fit out other lodges which we were not aware of until we arrived. The work did not interfere with our holiday or enjoyment at all however I feel it should be mentioned at time of our booking.

You’re right Caroline and I was assured by Sykes it would be mentioned. The site was meant to be finished early this year but due to supply chain issues there has been several setbacks. Thanks for flagging this up and I’m glad you enjoyed the views Property Owner
