Capel Jerusalem Cottages
These two stunning holiday cottages occupy a converted former Methodist chapel which dates back to the 1860s, in the peaceful little Snowdonian village of Abergynolwyn. Located next to the River Dysynni, these two luxurious holiday homes have been transformed by the present owners into two magnificent cottages which evoke memories of a distant past in rural North Wales. With very different styles in each property, both of these North Wales cottages offer modern living at its very finest with eco-friendly heating, contemporary furnishings, high quality fixtures and a touch of class with a baby grand piano in the Chapel. Together, these two wonderful properties sleep a total of eighteen people, perfect for a large family celebration; however they can also be booked separately to offer private accommodation for a superb family holiday in the breathtaking scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. Abergynolwyn is a delightful village in the foothills of Cader Idris, one of the most popular mountains for walkers in the whole of Snowdonia. It plays host to a local pub and a village carnival at the end of July, whilst Abergynolwyn Eisteddfod was first held in 1945 in this very chapel. Just a couple of miles to the east is the lake at Talyllyn where you can hire a boat or indulge in a spot of fishing, whilst to the west are the Dolgoch Falls and Steam Railway. Head a little further west and you will come to the magnificent beaches at Tywyn and Aberdovey, which is also home to a superb golf course. Whether, it is the outdoor pursuits that attract you, or just the opportunity to enjoy holiday accommodation of the highest possible quality, these two magnificent cottages in Abergynolwyn will leave you with memories that you will cherish for a very long time. Capel Jerusalem and Jerusalem Vestry sleep a total of 18 people, or make two extremely comfortable holiday homes for a memorable family break in North Wales..
Capel Jerusalem occupies the front of the chapel and is dominated by the magnificent open plan living area which is accessed by a sweeping oak staircase.
Here, tradition blends with contemporary style as the feature ceilings and beautiful lancet windows combine with modern furnishings and cosy eco-friendly heating.
Every convenience has been thought of at this Abergynolwen cottage, with a contemporary kitchen, zoned underfloor heating throughout and a projector screen so that you can view your photos in wide screen.
The dining area, which has additional tables and chairs enabling you to seat up to twenty people, is the perfect spot for everyone to get together and share stories of the day’s adventures, before retiring to catch up on a film on the TV.
Relax on large comfortable sofas, or get everyone to join in as you tinkle the ivories on the baby grand piano.
On the ground floor are the four fabulous en-suite bedrooms along with a small chill-out zone where you can grab a moment’s peace and quiet or even relax in the four person infra-red sauna.
The large entrance hall is home to a utility area and drying room, whilst bikes can be stored securely in the side yard.
A spacious enclosed garden at the front of the chapel is a superb spot for a morning cup of coffee as you listen to the babbling sounds of the river that runs to the side of the cottage.
