  • “On arrival we found the accommodation to be quite lovely.”

We were disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the property. We didn’t use the downstairs shower room at all! The outside photograph is misleading as there is no garden to speak off. Overall we were pleased with the property size wise but it’s quite tired in places now and needs certain things replacing and cleanliness was an issue for us.

The property

This lovely barn conversion is set in a courtyard location on the edge of the village of Abergynolwyn in the Dysynni Valley, within the Snowdonia National Park.

This delightful cottage is ideal for families and friends wishing to explore this beautiful part of the country.

There are six steps down to the front door of this property from where you enter into the large well-equipped kitchen which has a table and chairs.

From here you enter through into the comfortable beamed sitting room where you can relax and through a further door, you have the dining room.

There is also a shower, basin and WC on this ground floor.

Up the stairs are two double bedrooms and one family room with a single bed and adult bunk.

All bedrooms have sloping ceilings and beams which all add to the character of the property.

A bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC, again with characterful sloping ceilings, completes the accommodation.

Outside there is a patio with furniture where you can relax with a refreshing drink and listen to the stream that trickles nearby, whilst planning your next day’s activities.

The cottage is surrounded by stunning countryside and some of Europe’s best mountain bike trails.

There are also many beaches at nearby Aberdovey, Tywyn and Barmouth, which all have watersports.

For a more leisurely day why not visit the pretty market town of Dolgellau with its selection of shops, pubs and restaurants?
