This wasn’t as described we thought it was a lodge but it was a self contained flat with very limited cooking facilities and was extremely noisy we were on the downstairs floor and could hear every footstep from above although the accommodation was lovely and clean the views was stunning but definatley wasn’t what we was expecting it is a 9 bedroom b&b but without the breakfast there was no cooker hob was sadly dissatisfied

  • "Our second stay here, with our first being in June this year, following which we provided probably the best review we have for any of the properties we stayed in."

On this our second visit we had yet another fabulous week in this blissful lakeside retreat. The grounds provide an exceptionally peaceful place to absorb woodland, water and away from it all nature. Whilst being in a peaceful away from it all location the town of Bala is minutes away by car. Nature, peace, relaxation and in our case the joy of launching our Kayak from the shore infront of the property and at the end of a few hours paddle simply beaching it ready for the next day on the water. All in all a little piece of Heaven less than 100 miles from home.

Hi so happy you enjoyed your stay again, thanks for your lovely feedback, is so nice to see you both again xx. hugs Rob & Ann xx. Property Owner

  • "1) The warm, friendly, nothing is too much trouble, just ask welcome from the lovely owners."

    2) The superb over 4 acre lake fronting grounds which enhance the away from it all woodland retreat on the lake experience. 3) We stayed in "Tegid" with its spacious raised terrace complete with glass balustrade providing uninterupted 180 degree views across the lake glass. The balcon above providing shade as the sun rose through the day and in the evening the perfect position to watch the sunset over the hills beyond the. lake. 5) Great access to leave and launch our kayak at the shore edge. 6) Once inside "Tegid" again all expectations were surpassed. Fabulous wet room with great shower, good water pressure and truly non slip flooring. Lovely bedroom with comfortable bed facing out through double doors onto the terrace. Heaven to wake to views over the lake! Lounge/Kitchen again with double doors onto the lake facing terrace. Kitchen well equipped and as with the whole of the interior decorated, furnished and fitted to a very high standard. We have stayed in many high quality properties from boat houses in the Lake District to quaint coastal cottages in Pembrokeshire. This is beyond special. A unique hideaway retreat owned, run and loved by such warm, friendly and people. All creating a very special holiday for us and wonderful memories

  • "We spent an excellent week here."

The views are beautiful and the location is stunning. The owners Rob and Ann are really lovely and welcoming. The accommodation is very self contained. We even made a couple of suggestions as to some additional equipment for the kitchen. We had a lovely relaxing stay and even on a rainy day the view across the lake is still beautiful. One day we will return!

  • "Glan Y Gro is in a quiet and relaxing location with great views of the lake."

Ann and Rob were very welcoming, always available to help and provide information on the local area and recommendations on where to visit. We stayed in Tegid which was a very comfortable room with everything we needed for our break. It had a private balcony where we spent a lot of time sitting and admiring the views. This is a perfect location to base yourselves and explore Snowdonia. We look forward to visiting again.

  • "We had the pleasure of staying at Tegid the last week of April 2021."

As we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly owners, who explained about the property, the local area and showed us to our apartment. The apartment itself was spotless with everything you would need for a short stay. The kitchenette consisted of a Combi Microwave Oven, fridge freezer, Tea and Coffee Making facilities and a toaster. Enough for breakfast and cooking odd bits on the occasion you don’t want to sample the delicious food Bala Town has to offer. The Living room was comfortable with a large TV providing catchup and streaming services and a small dining area to compliment the Kitchenette. The Bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable, The ensuite was also very large. Both the Living room and Bedroom lead on to a balcony area which has spectacular views over Lake Tegid and was perfect for an afternoon/evening of relaxing in the sun after a day of exploring the Snowdonia National park. As the owners live on site, they were only ever a knock on the door away and couldn’t be more helpful, suggesting places to visit and where is good to eat. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to being able to return in the near future.
