By far the best views we have had in any cottage we have stayed in. Cottage was nice and cosy. Slight issue with the boiler which owner Stacy sorted immediately. Would highly recommend Cyffdy Cottages and we will certainly be back for a fourth visit!

  • "Loved this cottage, clean and wonderful location and views."

It was a bit cold though, the heating came on too early (and woke us up) and went off too early. It got cold really quickly. We did not feel we could spend a day in....unless we spent a fortune on logs for the wood burner. We did not always want to light a fire if we were going out again sooner rather than later. However this is not a deal breaker and we will return again but in the summer if there is availability as we loved it so much. Another tip is for a bigger mirror to be installed in the main bedroom...trying to use the hair dryer/make-up with such a small mirror was not easy...but again not a deal breaker it would just make things easier. Otherwise loved it here and didn't want to leave.

Aran was such a lovely, cosy cottage and had everything we needed. It was so well equipped - like home from home really. The views from the cottage were breathtaking. Stephanie was on hand if we needed anything (we didn't). This was our second visit to Cyffdy Cottages and no doubt we will be going back again. So very welcoming.

The area is great for walking and the cottage is a very comfortable base. We could not get the WiFi to work but did not enquire with the owner as the 4g signal was strong. We had a wonderful holiday and definitely wish to return to this delightful cottage.

  • "This was a beautiful and comfortable cottage with fantastic views."

The cottage was very clean, and had everything you needed. The bedrooms had lovely views and the double bed was very comfortable. The owners are situated very close which was reassuring in case of problems. The cottage is only a five minute drive from Bala lake, so great for water sports enthusiasts. Bala itself is a lovely place with some unusual shops, the Indian restaurant and the Turkish restaurant are top notch. This is a fantastic cottage, in a fantastic location. Just one point the cottage is accessed by a flight 8 steps up to the front door, so not accessible for people with mobility difficulties. There are however other cottages that are accessible. We will definitely be returning to this cottage, highly recommend.

  • "We loved our stay at Aran cottage."

The property itself is perfect for exploring north wales and the views are breathtaking. I have a few musts when renting out holiday cottages 1)the shower must be good, Arans was so good I asked where Stephanie got the shower head 2) the beds must be comfortable, we slept so well all week and 3) dog friendly which this property certainly is. We love the layout of the gardens/decking and how it wraps around the e property with a gate to keep the pups where they should be. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could need, clean, bright and quiet place to spend a week. It’s so peaceful and the self check in is very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

  • "We had a splendid holiday in Aran Cottage."

The only problem was, the water went of one morning but the owner was soon on to it and her son provided us with 2 bottles of water to make tea etc. The views of the surrounding countryside are spectacular and we made good use of the outside seating areas. The beds were comfortable. We were not overlooked, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet and the birds singing and the bees that loved the lavender outside the gate. We would definitely recommend this cottage and the surrounding area. Lots to see and do. Good restaurants and cafes in Bala. Good base for Snowdonia and North Wales. Places we also recommend are Llangollen and also Barmouth for the lovely beach and dunes.

Saying that it is only a short drive to shops cafes etc. We needed for nothing everything we need was there. Dog friendly which is a must for us and the cottage was great having a large enclosed garden. Our hosts were lovely gave us all the information we needed and due to covid communicated by txt. We loved to so much already booked for next year. Skye cottages sadly we were unable to contact when we made the original booking had a small query when we booked. We have been to Cyffdy before and that week we were able to walk over hills and mountains but this time with the amount of rain over the passed few weeks we decided to walk else where. One day we went down to the white water rapids ,well worth a visit) We did a few walks around Bala down by the river and one sunny day we drove over to Barmouth and had walks along the beach. I would like to say thanks to Steph for the scones, jam, daffodils and card for my birthday which I celebrated there. The cottage is well equipped if you like cooking as I do .The slow cooker is a bonus and also having a television in the kitchen dining room so while you are preparing a meal you can catch up on what ever you want . The garden is dog friendly all the way round the cottage so you do not have to worry about your dog if you let him/she out . We will hopefully be returning

The field the other side has grazing sheep. Could have been easily made a dog freindly area if they had put some stock or chicken wire along the bottom. Then the property woild be dog freindly ( more enjoyable ). Could not have patio doors open unless the dog was on the lead. Maybe a bit more thought by the owners!
