  • "A wonderful cottage (despite the steep stairs) in a perfect location."

Really enjoyed my stay. The only thing I'd add is that the main bedroom really needs blackout blinds or blackout curtains. It's so bright in the room at night with a street light right outside the window.

Right in the hub of shops, pubs and cafes.

  • "Absolutely lovely property."

Loved the layout with the big lounge across the top floor from which the views from the picture window are amazing. Kids rooms above the master bedroom which gave a sense of safety. The house was like a home from home, clean, comfortable and inviting with everything you need for a home from home stay. We took our little dog and even though there is no outside space, just open the front door and you have a garden and a beach across the road, Barmouth Bay is in your doorstep! Fabulous location and highly recommended.

Thank you for your lovely review, we’re so glad you enjoyed your stay & would welcome you back anytime! Property Owner

Everything you need for a perfect family holiday which is close to everything the town has to offer. Communication with the owner was great she’s happy to help and goes over and above to make sure you have a nice time. Thank you we will be back to beautiful Barmouth xxx

Best location and best views! A lot of stairs to climb but we’ll worth it. Everything you need. The best night’s sleep ever! Definitely going back

  • "Fantastic location, the view from the living room is crazy good, the kitchen had everything you need, and the shower was strong."

The only thing would be the stairs, if you have any mobility issues it would be a problem. Once you climb the stairs the reward of the views is worth it though.

Thank you for your lovely review - you’d be welcome back to Arran house anytime! We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you in the future. All the best! Property Owner

  • "Had a comfortable stay with gorgeous views and a perfect location."

Kitchen was really well equipped and was great to include an iron and hairdryer. I took my own as this wasn’t mentioned. Dog bed was a nice touch but quite smelly so I put it through a wash before using. Bathroom was great and a lovely shower and soft towels. Lounge was really spacious and stunning views and good wi fi throughout. Unfortunately we got a parking fine despite displaying the permit when on main car park in Dollgellau so please be warned of this. Bedrooms were light and spacious although shutters did let in too much light from outside so would be better with blackout curtains or blinds? There was also lots of noise from the Last Inn on Friday and Saturday nights. A little shelf or cupboard next to beds would be helpful as any items had to go on the floor as there was no where to put them. Key safe for key is quite stiff to open. Overall a great stay with good facilities, ideal if you don’t really want to drive anywhere and don’t mind lots of stairs as everything is within a few mins walk. Would recommend.

Thank you for the review, we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. I know I spoke with you during your stay with regards to the parking situation and key safe - thank you for raising. It’s important to remind all guests to look at the information sheet for specific car park details before parking and displaying the permit. Great point about the main bedroom - we’ll invest in some small bedside tables to help with that, thank you. We would welcome you back to Arran House anytime, so hopefully we’ll see you again in the future! All the best! Property Owner

  • "Brilliant location and excellent correspondence with owners."

Amazing views from living area watching the boats and people watching. Train station and ferry within a 5 minute walk if you wish to explore further afield and 3 supermarkets near train station for any forgotten items. Having a knee problem I did find the stairs a little hard.

We’re glad you enjoyed your stay at Arran house, thank you for the feedback - you’d be welcome back anytime! Property Owner

  • "This is a wonderfully located property with the most amazing views and brilliant access to the town."

Very clean and owner contacted us on arrival to check in with us. We would absolutely stay here again but as previous review said I feel some extra facilities would definitely improve stay. The first floor bedroom is very light at night and although some people may like this maybe some blackout blinds or curtains would help people who prefer it darker to sleep. The lounge area may also benefit from more seating in the unused space behind the settee. There was information about a dishwasher but we were not able to find. Generally perhaps a bit more information on leaving eg where does recycling go and a few more facilities in kitchen eg bread bin, bin liners ect. Had a lovely stay we wish this to constructive as we would definitely stay again. Thanks

Thank you very much for your constructive feedback, we will absolutely be making some additions in terms of furniture when we’re next up there, this is our first year having spent some time redoing the property with it being up and running so we will make improvements as we go - thank you for the suggestions. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay & would very much welcome you back to Arran House. Unfortunately there hasn’t ever been a dishwasher at the property so I’ll check with the housekeeping team about any info that seems to be there about a dishwasher to find out where that’s come from as this wasn’t in the manuals we wrote at the start of the season. Thank you again for your feedback and we’re glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner
