  • "Very disappointed to find that there's only one bathroom at 'Berwyn' (it's listed as having 2)."

Two bathrooms was the main reason I chose to book a week at the property. For a holiday let, there's far too much clutter in terms of ornaments etc. Without so many, I'm sure the cleaner would find it easier to get around more quickly. Even so, I have no complaints about cleanliness. The bedrooms would benefit from more shelf space rather than just the tops of bedside tables and suitcase/luggage stands would be ideal so as not to have to use the beds or floor when packing/unpacking. On the plus side, the hot tub's a bonus.

  • "Berwyn is an excellent holiday bungalow with good facilities."

The beds are very comfortable and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. The kitchen/ dining area is very contemporary and the outside space is quiet and relaxing. The property had all the facilities you could wish for and we enjoyed our stay in North Wales a place we visit regularly. There are two very minor comments to make on the listings information. The directions on where to turn off the main road to the accommodation could be improved by stating it is adjacent to the change in speed road sign in Talybont and also the home telephone number for the owner/contact in the Sykes listing plus the accommodation information pack is not in use. We did need to contact the owner as unfortunately the TV aerial had a fault following thunderstorms (it was rectified during our visit) but we found it difficult in the first few days to make contact with the owner. We would recommend this property as somewhere to stay in comfort and enjoy.

. One of our children is autistic so it’s perfect for the space and he now knows that Berwyn will always be our our get away place twice a year , we have booked again for another week next easter. The gate at the property needs fixing as only half of it is fixed to the wall , that was the only issue regarding safety for our Dylan. • "The cottage was spotlessly clean - very important these days - and extremely comfortable."

Talybont is a great base for a holiday with so many attractions within an easy drive. It was really disappointing that there were no trains running and that the bridge in Barmouth was also closed to pedestrians, though this was obviously beyond your control. One minor quibble - and it is minor - is that there were only five coffee mugs, one of which was chipped, and no beer glasses. Also, nearly all the crockery was gold rimmed and so unsuitable for use in the microwave. These in no way distracted from a really enjoyable week, though.

  • "The directions to get to Berwyn we’re not easy to follow, as strangely the directions were in feet, which rather over complicated things."

On arriving in Talybont it would have been helpful to use the narrow bridge and Tony’s as a reference, and use the red tarmac as a guide to turn right.

  • "The bungalow itself is situated lovely to see the sea."

The grounds are stunning along with the inside of the bungalow. Very well maintained to a high standard and you can see that the owners have gone out there way to ensure you can have the best comfort possible along with everything you could think of inside the bungalow, from underfloor heating to all the utilities and high design spec throughout. The owners left us a few us a few welcome gifts which was great touch and was only a call away if for whatever reason we needed them. Absolutely gorgeous place so much so we looked to book again for June but cannot now until October. Will for sure be staying here again. On another note if you like great food from a butcher i would highly recommend going 1/2 mile down the road to the Spar which the owners own the butchers. They have award winning sausages which are scrumptious.

Very well equipped with all you need for self catering. The bed was very comfortable and everything works well. The hottub is a very relaxing addition and is sited so it can be used in all weather. There was a lovely welcome pack from the owners and simple instructions on how to use TV s etc. The WiFi signal is also excellent. It's a lovely quiet, private location but close enough to Barmouth and Harlech. We didn't travel far due to covid but felt safe and comfortable at the cottage, difficult times for all of us at the moment so it was good to relax and unwind.

  • "Quiet place on a private road with excellent facilities."

Drove past it the first time but as soon as we realised it was right by the 30/40 mph road sign (depending on which way you come in) we found it. Decorated, furnished and equipped to a high standard. Very clean but the additional ‘fogging’ for the virus did put a slight oily residue on some surfaces in the lounge. These were easily cleaned off and did prove that it had been done.Beds very comfortable and lovely power shower. Kitchen well stocked with crockery, cutlery, tools and picnic glasses suitable for use outside. Washing up liquid, tea towels, tea, coffee and sugar provided which was a lovely touch along with the welcome pack of milk, butter, biscuits and welsh cakes. Hot tub was ready for use as soon as we arrived and was maintained throughout. A very relaxing holiday in a lovely area and we’ve already booked again. Thanks Diane, see you next year !

  • "We had a fantastic week away in a lovely comfortable cottage."

The big garden was great for young children to run about in and the hot tub was a lovely addition on a nighttime . Barmouth is a short drive away along with several other great beaches. Within walking distance of the cottage there is some lovely walks in the woods at the top of the lane, and the pub is only a 2 minute walk. All in all a lovely week even though the weather was a bit rough at times. The only thing that could have improved the cottage and theses are only very minor inconveniences was egg cups and tongs in the kitchen ,and as lovely as all the ornaments were, we had to move them out of the way with a very boisterous 3 yr old about.

Ample space, plenty of crockery and kitchen equipment. Very modern kitchen, utility and wet room teamed with quaint, cottage style decorated bedrooms and living space. We normally struggle with sleep away from home but the beds were so comfortable with great quality bedding that we slept soundly every night. The welcome pack of milk, Welsh butter, biscuits and welsh cakes were a lovely addition on our arrival and the hot tub was just heavenly after a hard days walking! We didn’t visit many local restaurants or pubs due to the current Covid situation but had a food shop delivered with no problems. Lovely quiet area, plenty of outdoor space and stunning walks on the doorstep! All this made for a wonderful staycation! Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you Diane for a wonderful stay!

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Berwyn."

The privacy, spaciousness (inside and out), comfort, cleanliness and contemporary decor are outstanding. It is genuinely as good as it appears in the brochure. It has recently come onto the market and cost has clearly not been a major consideration in preparing and furnishing it. I would be surprised if the very realistic price is maintained into next season.

  • "Newly refurbished, this a spacious and clean property both inside and out."

Plenty of space to relax for all. The decor, particularly in the lounge, will not be to everyone’s taste and the absence of a DVD player and regular TV (BTTV available but limited) was disappointing. We also experienced some issues with the hot tub and whilst these were resolved we were unable to enjoy this facility for a couple of days. A final point is that the beach is too far to walk to and if you do decide to go for it there are no pavements. So a little tricky with young children. Having said that the owners (and Jonathon the gardener!) were friendly and helpful and overall we enjoyed our time at Berwyn.
