The coast is 5.5 miles away at the seaside village of Llanon, a little further is the pretty seaside harbour town of Aberaeron, with its candy coloured houses and great places to eat, whilst nearby Llanerchaeron, the National Trust working farm estate, is well worth a visit. Aberystwyth is less than half an hour’s drive, with popular high street shops and Victorian historical influences, or why not take a trip on the funicular railway and marvel at the camera obscura or perhaps sit and watch the airbourne acrobatics of the starling murmurations? There are various outdoor activities nearby including walking, cycling and birdwatching, or why not visit some of the fabulous local nature reserves such as Cors Caron, with raised boardwalks making it accessible to all? The coastline opens up fantastic days walking the coastal path or seeing the coves and beaches from a different angle on a wildlife watching boat trip; you may be lucky enough to catch sight of the bay’s resident dolphins. Nearby Tregaron, Gateway to the Cambrian Mountains, is fantastic for walking and cycling with the mountain road meandering through nature reserves, across old highway territory to Llyn Brianne near Llandovery.
