"Totally recommend this bungalow for peace and quiet and lovely owner"
-
"We have stayed at Glebelands seveal times and it is ideal for both access to the town and for walks in the surrounding countryside."
The owners are very accommodating and helpful, and the location is nice and quiet. If we had to make two small points, firstly the TV is linked through a Sky box but most of the channels shown are not actualy available, which gets a bit annoying. A Freesat box would be much better. Secondly the checkout time is 9AM which is very early now covid is long past. It is quite a rush to get up and load the car by 9. However, we enjoy our stays and would use Glebelands again.
-
"Spacious and comfy with a great view over the countryside, very handy for the town."
Everything we needed. Friendly and helpful owners.
-
"Another great holiday at this property."
Unfortunately had to cut it short due to family illness. But love the bungalow and everything in it and the owners very nice. Will return.
-
"Superb bungalow which the photographs do not due justice to and should include some of the fabulous views across the countryside, it's a lot larger than shown."
Spotlessly clean and very well furnished. The owner who lives next door was very helpful but not at all intrusive. Five-minute walk into town with quite a few pubs and a Spar. Could do with some instructions for the TV remotes, as it would appear it's been changed from Sky to Freeview since we booked it. However, overall we would definitely recommend it
-
"Our second stay here in Bishops Castle."
We love the accommodation, the location and the opportunity for some great walking in the Shropshire Hills.
-
"Lovely house in fantastic location"
-
"Lovely low level cottage in quiet area just short walk to town and pubs."
Everything you needed was provided and hosts friendly and accommodating. Bed was really comfortable. Only small issue was that the shower control rather stiff for wife to turn, other than that it was perfect base to explore the area. Would recommend
-
"We had a lovely 4 night stay at Glebeland."
The owners were very friendly & helpful.
-
"Our second stay in Glebeland was just as satisfying as last year."
The quiet location with lovely rural views, but within easy walking distance from the town shops and facilities, makes for comfort as well as convenience. The bungalow is clean, nicely furnished, and well equipped. We have no hesitation in recommending it as a fine base from which to explore the often hidden and unacknowledged attractions of south Shropshire and the Welsh borders.
-
"The bungalow was absolutely perfect for us."
It was good meeting the friendly owners who lived next door. Everything was spotless and we needed nothing that wasn’t available. We would come again if our son and family hadn’t just moved away! Thankyou! Jane and Ken MacKenzie
-
"This is our second stay at Glebeland."
The property is very warm, comfortable and in a good location within walking distance of Bishop's Castle. The owners are on hand if there are any problems.
-
"Our third time at the property, it's perfect for our family, close to amenities and lovely places to visit."
WiFi works well with good phone signal. Shops, grocery stores and pubs with food all within 5 minute walk.
-
"Glebeland is a real home from home property with every thing provided that you would need for your stay."
Fully equipped kitchen with extras like dish cloths, Tea towels, kitchen Roll, foil and washing liquid/dishwasher tablets/handwash also provided. Good quality bedding and plenty of clean towels along with very comfortable beds. The TV was a basic Sky package with good reception along with a comfortable lounge/dining room with plenty of seating. We were left a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival and the owner who lives next door was very helpful. The bungalow is a short walk from the centre of Bishops Castle which is a lovely town with plenty of independent shops. There is a Co-op for groceries and we were very impressed with a take-away called Bishops Delight that we used a few times.
-
"Our only (very minor) comment would be about the TV, where it shows endless Sky channels but actually none of them are available other than standard Freeview."
-
"Although I found this accomodation very late, but it was a terrific find."
I liked the cottage overall including the comfort, facilities and view from living room / bedroom. I can rate 9/10. Thanks Raman

"A super holiday home: great for walkers and well-located within a few minutes' stroll into Bishops Castle."
Quiet, peaceful with great rural views. Exactly as described. Highly recommended.
-
"Owners so nice and helpful nothing too much trouble."
Bungalow fabulous, bed comfy and living room amazing. Nice walk into town with coffee shops. Would return again.

"We found Glebeland exactly as described, a very clean and comfortable property."
A great location, Ideal for walking, relaxing with easy access to the town and other places to visit. A vert pleasant weeks stay.
-
"Clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation in lovely quiet location but convenient for pubs, shops etc within easy walking distance."
Just a couple of minor quibbles - Books and DVDs were listed but not available and tap on shower was hard to turn. Slightly disappointed that streaming services not available on TV. But altogether a very pleasant stay.

"We enjoyed our stay in Glebeland."
The property is in a lovely location with fine views, and within easy reach of local shops and amenities. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We have no hesitation in recommending it as an excellent holiday home.
-
"A very comfortable and warm bungalow in a good location with easy access to Bishop's Castle."
Marvellous views over the surrounding countryside. Owners, who live next door, very helpful but not intrusive.
-
"We had such an enjoyable stay, such a cosy bungalow, very peaceful and amazing views."
Spotlessly clean and well equipped felt like home from home, thank you.
-
"This was a last minute booking and as a family of 5 we were delighted with the bungalow."
It was clean, well equipped and the owner was accessible without being intrusive. We had a lovely time with lots to do in Bishops Castle but also easy to reach other towns such as Ludlow. Would book again.

"We had a lovely stay at this bungalow."
The property is very clean, spacious, comfortable and warm (particulartly important that week, as it was very frosty outside). it is only a 5 minute walk from the town, on a very quiet no-through road. There are lots of walks that start nearby, including the Shropshire Way, all of which we found well signposted, and the scenery is beautiful. We will definitely book this property again.

"Our stay wasn’t as positive as we hoped it would be."
The lights in the living room had cobwebs on them, there was green lime scale deposits on the kitchen and bathroom taps, and the carpet was so dirty we had to clean it when we arrived. There was also a very strong smell in the living room & bedrooms which I presume came from the carpet. We turned on scented candles and added diffusers around the whole place but the smell remained. We found it difficult to enjoy our stay, and consequently, our Christmas break because of issues (mainly the strong smell) that we found in the property. On top of this, there were basic issues of upkeep that were evident throughout the property that impacted my stay and feeling of comfort (such as missing knobs on the stove, dirt and mould on the mouth of taps, lifting carpet and laminate flooring). Considering I paid over 600 GBP for this property, I really feel let down as I had high expectations from the images and reviews of the property from past visitors on the Sykes website. I do hope the carpet is changed/freshened and the property is cleaned thoroughly for the sake of future visitors. Please let me know if you have any further questions about our stay and I can elaborate.
Thank you for your feedback. The owner was very upset and surprised by your comments as they live next door and helped you to figure out the TV but were not made aware of any other issues so had no chance to assist during your stay. The following guests loved the property, as have most others, and raised no issues so they have struggled to understand your comments but do hope you had an enjoyable stay otherwise. Property Owner

Good central location with lots to do in the area.
-
"Lovely house in a quiet position close to the shops etc."
Great position for touring the area. Owners very friendly and helpful.
-
"It would have been better with more instructions in the use of appliances etc, and in how to deal with waste eg what can be recycled."
-
"Perfect venue, comfortable & well appointed bungalow."
Near enough to town but far enough to feel separate. Loved it!
-
"Perfect spot and setting for a real holiday very clean and comfortable would highly recommend this bungalow Simon"
-
"Such a perfect holiday space"
-
"Lovely bungalow in very good condition."
Excellent location with easy access and plenty of parking. Nice lawned garden which was perfect during the hot spell. Very convenient for the shops and pubs yet its a very scenic rural property.
-
"Really great stay at this lovely property, and great value for money."
Everything clean and tidy, lovely garden. Comfy beds. Plenty of places to explore in the local area. We particularly enjoyed walking at Carding Mill Valley and the kids loved splashing in the stream there. We had lovely fish and chips at the pub down the road. We had a great holiday, thank you.
-
"Lovely bungalow down a nice quiet lane and cul-de-sac."
Lovely views and great neighbours. A 3 to 4 minute walk to the nearest pub, though the menu is limited it may be because of covid restrictions. A few minutes more and you are in the main shopping area. Would recommend
-
"Good sized property with all amenities we needed and at a great location, plenty of things to do and places to visit locally."
There's a playground with plenty open space, pub & grocery shop all just a 5 minute walk. Our children had a wonderful time as did the adults. We hope to return in the future.
-
"We had such a lovely stay here, everyone very friendly, great pubs to eat at in the area, local shops close by, lots to do in the area."
Everything you would need in the holiday home and lovely views.
-
"A little disappointed with the garden."
Not as enclosed a it looks on the photos.
-
"Our hosts were very welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable."
-
"Absolutely first class!"
We have been to many holiday homes booked through Sykes and Glebeland is definitely the best. Great location, great for equipment, great for space and so comfortable. The weather wasn’t kind to us but that just means we can go back again and hopefully enjoy the garden and the short walk into Bishop’s Castle where there are lots of places to eat.
-
"The weather was fantastic and showed the beautiful views well."
We only had contact with one of the owners Ian who was most friendly and helpful. Glebeland was everything we hoped for and we hope to return again. We were able to stroll to the delightful town steeped in historic buildings, make sure you have a camera handy.
-
"The owners of this bungalow were very friendly and even brought some of his home grown tomatoes for us."
-
"Great cottage"
-
"Owners were great."
Thanks to Ian and Jane

"Glebeland is a wonderful holiday retreat in the heart of stunning scenery."
The location, rural but close to Bishop's Castle meant that it was ideal for the short walk into the centre to admire the historic buildings. The accommodation was spotless, the bedrooms spacious and beds were exceptionally comfortable (good night sleep all round) and plenty of relaxing space (indoors and out). The kitchen was well stocked with more than enough equipment for a family stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glebeland for any visitors to the area.
-
"The accommodation is situated in a quiet lane five minutes from the town."
It has wonderful views and is very comfortable. The only criticism or suggestion would be the kitchen needs some wall cupboards to store foodstuff, oh & egg cups would be nice. Otherwise it was excellent.
-
"We all agreed that Glebeland was the best self-catering property that we have used over the many years we have used them."
The view from the bungalow was extensive and rural, the lane was extremely quiet, apart from the birds, and the owners very helpful.
-
"Owners very welcoming and helpful."
Property clean, very comfortable and well furnished with stunning views from all aspects of the bungalow. Lovely quiet location with a short walk to shops and many eateries. Plenty of walks from the doorstep.
-
"Our Hosts provided a warm welcome with tea milk and a bottle of wine."
A very comfortable home in Every way. All our needs catered for . Wonderful views of the countryside from the bungalow, and very private garden with visiting birds. Thanks Ian and Jayne for helpful directions to villages Nearby.
-
"Nothing to be aware of except that most of the shops in Bishop's Castle close early on a Saturday so, if you want to look around best to go in the morning."
This accommodation met our expectations perfectly. Very comfortable and immaculately clean. Ideally situated for walking. Stiperstones was awesome. Thank you for a great stay
-
"We stayed at this lovely bungalow while having work done on our own bungalow."
It was nicely furnished and had lovely decor. The view from the large window in The lounge overlooking the Glebeland and onto the hills was lovely, especially as it had snowed. It was very welcoming and was warm for the whole week. The flowers and wine were a lovely touch as was the milk in the Fridge. Thank you, we will definitely tell our friends.
