We stayed here in June 2017 and were surprised to see that the cottage wasn't in the middle of nowhere as the picture can look, it is directly on the high street with houses all round it. Excellent photography skills at Sykes. Here's our review... Positives; • Located opposite the Three Tuns Brewery which is a lovely pub, the brewed ales and food are fantastic. This gets full quickly so I recommend booking – even on a week night ! • The cottage itself is really lovely inside, the décor is unusual and surprising at first but it really grows on you. The kitchen / dining area is lovely and great for big groups, we had family with us for some of the days and sitting round the large table eating or playing cards was great. • The hot tub is fantastic, very clean, warm and relaxing. Don’t forget your towels for this. • There are hundreds of books and games provided for use during your stay which I think is a lovely touch. • The heating works great, when we got cold the house warmed up really fast. • On road parking outside the cottage is readily available • When contacting the owners they appeared very pleasant Negatives / Minor Issues; • There is no garden or outdoor area for dogs. This unfortunately was a major issue for us and spoilt our holiday . The advert might say garden/patio ….. there is no garden or land to our knowledge except upstairs terrace by the hot tub. • None of the doors downstairs shut i.e. stay closed. Not ideal for people with dogs when you are trying to keep them downstairs at night. Perhaps take stair gates with you. • The fridge is broken and destroyed all our fresh food, a note states this will happen if you overfill the fridge. We did not overfill it. This is noted in another review. I really think this is something the owners should look at given the fact this is self-catering a fridge is such an important aspect. As you can see not many negatives and I think for adults booking a week away together with no dogs I’d say this accommodation is probably absolutely perfect !!! P.s We booked through Skyes, we dont personally recommend them, their service was poor after full payment was received.
