  • "We had the best time staying at Ramblers."

Wendy was such an amazing host and very kind to leave us some chocolates and Welsh cakes. The farm is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. My autistic son loved fishing in the ponds and saying hello to the horses and sheep. The cottage was very well equipped and we felt at home... we will definitely stay again next year

Milk, Welsh cakes and Choccies waiting for us on arrival. Welcoming committee of chickens and ducks was lovely. Beautiful grounds to enjoy and relax in; raised, wooden viewing point delightful to sit in with a drink and admire the scenery. Dog friendly with nice woodland walks. Wendy a helpful and charming host. We would love to stay there again.

  • "The cottage and the area is fantastic."

If I had any criticism it would be that the tv channels are a little limited. We went for work reasons but anyone who visited for leisure reasons may not find that an issue.

  • "Such a lovely and quiet place with amazing grounds!"

An excellent family get-away - staycation. Wendy is fantastic, she has a wealth of useful information and is very friendly and approachable. If you like chickens, ducks and even guinea fowl, you'll love it here. There is a wooded area which takes you up to the ridge with fantastic views, there's a bbq area and just lots of different plots within the grounds to go and sit, eat, relax or simply loose yourself in with the views. We have already recommended this place to a few of our friends.

  • "Ramblers is a delightfully peaceful place to stay or use as a base for exploring Mid-Wales."

The detached building had plenty of room for the two of us and our two dogs. The main room is the kitchen/diner/lounge all in one with a little table to eat at or plan the next day's adventure. There are then a large main bedroom, a small bedroom and the bathroom. I believe the layout is wheelchair friendly, with matched flooring throughout, low light switches and no steps to get in or out. There is room for one vehicle to park directly beside the building and access to the open plan shared areas of the small holding, so long as you are happy with the company of a dozen chickens!

  • "We would definitely recommend Ramblers Cottage to a couple or family."

My husband and I visited for one week with our 11 year old son. We really enjoyed the cottage, it was very cute and well equipt with lovely welcome treats on arrival, I wont spoil the surprise! We loved walking around here of an evening or daytime, taking in the gorgeous 360 countryside views, which can also be enjoyed from inside the property with the top half stable door open. The ample outside seating areas at the dining table, property path, pond areas, firepits x 2, woodland and raised viewpoint bench offered lots of opportunities for much needed rest and relaxation. We would also recommend a trip to Lake Vyrnwy inc waterfall. Thank you to the friendly owners and their extended farmyard family for a wonderful holiday.

  • "Lovely stay in a gorgeous area, the cottage itself was beautiful, clean and well presented you can see pride goes into the preparation ."

It had everything you needed for self catering although we only really cooked breakfasts but you could do full meals with the gear provided ,WiFi not the best but that did not effect us. There are other holiday let’s on the farm but it still felt nicely isolated if we had any gripes (and we are absolutely nitpicking here) shower was a bit meh and we had couple days where flys were a pain,, you are in the country but maybe an electronic zapper machine would help. Would not hesitate to return and have recommended to friends it’s a credit to the owners

  • "Wendy was great, very helpful, never saw Adrian."

Not at all private, other 'cottages' on the same site, and they drive and walk past your cottage. Off the beaten track a little (road was actually closed, but could go through for access). The place also smelled very badly of damp to be honest, had to leave windows open all the time, to keep it down. Never got a change of towels for the whole week (although I'm sure Wendy would have arranged, but should have been done as a matter of course). The entrance gate was a bit of a pain, as you had to find something to wedge it open to get the car through. Not really animal friendly as there are ducks and chickens wandering round, so be aware you need to keep your dog on the lead. Luckily our dog is too lazy to chase them, although he is quite fond of chicken...

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you felt the cottage lacked privacy. This has not been raised before and we feel the pictures are clear on the website to show the proximity of the other properties. We have also never had damp reported before as we always receive very good feedback but will ensure this is checked. As this is a self catering property, there is no change of towels provided on any booking of a week or less, which I believe is standard. The gate does have a hook and eye to close it or hold it open. We would happily have helped if you had reported any of these issues to us as we spoke every day. I am sorry you thought the site was not pet-friendly due to the farm animals on site. We have now added a note to make it clearer that dogs must be kept on a lead. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

The cottage is set within beautiful grounds with ponds, ducks and chickens roaming and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The location was perfect for us. • "Lovely holiday, the owner was very accommodating and friendly."

The accommodation overall was good but we could have done with a fly catcher because of the amount that was present, we did buy fly spray which helped but really needed a professional one. Can’t be helped on a farm but you can help by providing a professional fly trap. Didn’t know about chickens, ducks and Guinea foul beforehand otherwise may have thought twice about booking because we have two spaniels luckically they are well behaved. My husband enjoyed the fishing in the small lakes and had a lot of fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday location was great, scenery spectacular and people friendly overall a good time.

It is in a beautiful location with hills all around, lots of lovely walks from the door and also further afield. If you like animals then you will love this there are Indian runner ducks and chickens wandering the grounds and two fishing ponds to try your luck in. The Ramblers cottage is well equipped, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed strolling round the owners grounds watching the bats and hearing the owls hoot at dusk. Wendy and Adrian the owners are very friendly and will do their best to make your stay a memorable one. Many thanks for a lovely break in your gorgeous cottage and hope to visit you again soon .

A beautiful, spacious, bright, clean and well-equipped cottage on stunning grounds with fabulous surroundings that we enjoyed exploring with our little girl (age 2.5). Wendy and Adrian were so welcoming and always stopped for a chat whenever we saw them. They were so kind to our little girl, letting her stroke the chickens and feed Annie the sheep and the milk, chocs and wine they left in the cottage were a welcome sight after a long drive to get there! We would highly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a break with quite a central location in Wales and would also point out the nearest beach - Aberdyfi which, even though it’s an hour away, is an absolute must-do!

  • "The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming."

They offered fishing rods so we could fish in the pond. They allowed my son to collect eggs from the hens. They had lots of time to chat and pass on local knowledge. The cottage had lots of nice touches- dvds, milk and wine in the fridge and a box of chocolates, a torch etc. Accuracy of listing- the sofa was not as in the photos on the website... it was a disappointing feature as a modern corner sofa was advertised to seat all 3 of us but we got an old sofa seating 2 which was a bit grimy. Comfort- the main bed was very uncomfortable. The outside furniture only seated 2 but the cottage was for 3 people.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed yourselves and were happy to accommodate your special request pre arrival of bedding with no duck feathers and no fabric softener. We do appreciate mattresses are subjective but will monitor future feedback about this as we checked with recent guests who found it comfortable. The sofa is only 6 months old as we update our decor regularly and get great cleanliness feedback from guests. The sofa seats 3 people and is checked regularly - If we had been made aware that there was something not to your liking we would of course have attended immediately as we live on the farm itself. Thank you for the general high cleanliness score for the property on your feedback survey. We’re glad you enjoyed the special treats we leave for our valued guests and we are glad the family enjoyed seeing the animals and the fishing facility we offered. We also show guests on arrival the extra benches, extra outdoor table and chairs and barbecue area next to the property that can be used and were pleased to see you enjoyed the use of those extra table and chairs. • "We booked this fairly last minute and were really pleased at being able to find something that both met our needs and was very reasonably priced, especially considering it was still the tail end of the School Summer Holidays."

When we arrived we were greeted straight away by Wendy who was very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. There were chocolates, milk, fresh eggs and wine in the cottage waiting for us, along with fresh towels for us to use over the course of the week. The location is stunning, set in the middle of lots of fields, a couple of miles outside of Kerry - which is probably just about walking distance away if you want to stretch you legs. What we loved most about the location was how central it is for exploring just about anywhere in Wales. We went north, south, east and west to explore castles, the beach, walks and restaurants and we genuinely enjoyed the whole week. We’d recommend The Nags Head for dinner, Stokesay castle for a drive out and Aberdyfi beach if the weathers good - although we went when it was windy and cloudy and it was still a good walk on the beach with the tide out. The cottage itself is a really good size for two or three people for a week, with all the facilities that you’d want. There’s a DVD player and a decent stack of DVD’s for those rainy days or when you just want to have a lazy day and a couple of board games and if you had any questions or wanted to know anything about the local area, Adrian and Wendy were only too happy to be there for you. All in all, a really good relaxing week and one that we’ll remember for a long time.
