  • “If you like walking this is for ...”
If you like walking this is for you. Apart from all the obvious areas (Cader, Mawddach, Reinogs, Arrans, etc.) try Coed-y-Brenin; the visitors' centre and walks from / around it are superb.

The property

Dolgellau 3 miles.

A lovely, double-fronted mid-terrace stone cottage, located on the outskirts of the semi-rural hamlet of Brithdir, three miles from Dolgellau in the Snowdonia National Park.

The cottage is a great base for couples, friends and families wishing to spend time together.

The whole cottage, decorated with a rustic French shabby-chic style, oozes charm and character.

The bright sitting room is light, well-appointed and welcoming, with a woodburning stove set into a lovely inglenook fireplace, wooden flooring and a comfortable sofa and chairs.

The country-style kitchen is a wonderful room to relax in after a busy day out and about; it is well equipped with both a breakfast bar and a dining area with an attractive cast-iron decorative fireplace.

There is plenty of room for everyone at the breakfast table, making it a lovely room to enjoy a leisurely breakfast whilst planning the day ahead, or a late supper after a day full of exploring.

The three bedrooms upstairs all have stripped wooden floorboards.

The two main bedrooms are spacious and one benefits from a king-size bed, while the single bedroom has a day bed and is a great child’s room.

Outside this delightful cottage is a small rear yard with steps leading up to a low maintenance garden area with bark chippings, beds and borders.

There is an elevated decked area with furniture for alfresco dining.

The utility room doubles as a secure space for bike storage, handy as there are bike trails only a short distance away, from which you can enjoy stunning views over the magnificent Mawddach Estuary.

Visit the many shops, pubs and restaurants in the pretty town of Dolgellau, just three miles away, the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful National Park and North Wales’ stunning coastline.

The cottage is also close to the renowned mountain bike centre at Coed-y-Brenin, the beautiful sandy beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey, as well as Harlech Castle, a World Heritage Site.

Visit the harbour town of Porthmadog and take the world-famous Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam train to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Here, you can visit the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Zip World Titan, the longest four-man zipwire in Europe, Bounce Below, an underground trampoline, and Antur Stiniog the mountain bike centre, with its various downhill trails; there really is something for everyone!

This delightful cottage is an ideal retreat to be enjoyed all year round and perfect for an exciting holiday.
