“A lovely little cottage that's cosy and welcoming.”

The owners had done a smashing job, even putting some Christmas decorations up and some logs for the fire. The heating did a good job so we were all lovely and warm. The children were fascinated by the wildlife in the back garden. Would recommend. The only negative is leaving the driveway on to the main road could be helped with trimming the hedges or installing a mirror.

The property

This lovely semi-detached cottage is situated in the village of Llandinam in Powys, mid-Wales.

An attractive cottage in a superb location ideal for friends or a small family wishing to explore this part of the country.

From the patio doors you enter the well-equipped kitchen which has a dining area and off this room there is a single bedroom.

The main sitting room has a fabulous woodburner, where you can cosy up to if the weather should turn a little cold.

There are two further bedrooms, one with a super king-size bed which can be made into a twin on request, together with a double bedroom and family bathroom.

Outside this delightful cottage there is an enclosed front garden and rear garden with furniture where you can sit and relax with a refreshing drink whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside.

When you visit the village of Llandinam you can see the home of home of David Davies (Broneirion) which is open to the public for prearranged visits and hire and provides a fascinating insight into one of the men who ‘made’ modern Wales.

The area is surrounded by stunning views and walks.

Llyn Clywedog is a lovely 3-mile walk away from Llanidloes, stretching for 6 miles and providing a rich habitat for a variety of wildlife.

Alternatively, walk along the River Severn in Hafren Forest or explore the Cambrian Mountains.

The area is superb for cyclists.

Further afield you can enjoy the beaches of Cardigan Bay, explore the Snowdonia mountain range and visit all the historic towns in the Shropshire Hills.

Powys Castle is just 20 miles away and well worth a visit.
