  • "This is difficult one to review."

We had read reviews about cleanliness and wondered what we would find. So firstly what a fantastic location. You can access the promenade from the garden although there is a drop to jump down, so we accessed it via the road instead. The house was clean as such apart from the fan above the shower which we noticed the day before we left was caked in dust. I think where people have previously complained it was dirty I would say its in desperate need of maintenance. We didn't for example use the bread bin, it was clean but the base was peeling so it looked dirty. All the top of the microwave looked as though the plastic was peeling. In the lounge they've obviously had some leaks, the ceiling has different paint colours on, the wall nearest the TV has plaster pulling away from the wall and it's completely off near the ground, paintwork around light switches needs re doing. In the bathroom there is black mold starting above the shower and mold around the taps and the sealant is black in areas. Tge bin is rusting, such a simple thing to rectify. We thought about contacting the housekeepers but these are things that can't be sorted on one visit and hopefully they know about them and have informed the owners. We can say that we had the best nights sleep whilst there, the bed was very comfy. We would love to return to the property but not in its current state, but if its sorted we would not hesitate to return. We've got photos of the issuesif they would help. I'm sure that the issues will be sorted.

  • "Heavy rain Tuesday 10th night into Wednesday 11th Oct."

Water visible and running down on inside interior wall next to TV and side of pictures. Looks like it's where the balcony is above. That wall remained damp throughout week. Plaster and paint is being pushed out in bubbles due to water behind it. Front bedroom, street side, window handle is very stiff to open and close and frame is rusting away inside due to salty / sea air. Front door lock mechanism was very loose and key kept sticking when turned to lock so great difficulty trying to pull the key out. However caretaker sprayed WD40 into lock when changed light bulb on landing upstairs on Weds 11th and much easier to turn key to lock and open. When stiff, the mechanism comes out slightly so this will be an issue when stiffens up again. Also lightbulb that was changed on Weds 11th was flickering from Thurs 12th onwards so looks like there's a connection issue. Left these comments in the housekeeping book also.

On Saturday the 14th October the housekeepers could not find the problem that caused water to run down the wall. If they had been contacted at the time it would have been possible to trace the problem. The comments about plaster and paint are wrong. The faulty light bulb has again been replaced and is not now flickering. Thanks for the feedback regarding the window and front door. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay in an amazing location."

Very comfortable and relaxing. Just a few of minor niggles though - the kitchen was perhaps overdue a deep clean, the main mattress cover a bit grubby, and it would have been good to have a DVD or BD player

I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay at Golwg y Mor but sorry you experienced these issues. The kitchen is deep cleaned at regular intervals. I've spoken to the housekeepers about the mattress cover, they were unaware of this problem but could have dealt with both problems if they had been contacted at the time. The housekeepers contact details are displayed prominently in several places in the house. Property Owner

  • "The house was great."

Not terribly clean. Floor hadn't been swept properly or washed. Toilet had brown stains on the bottom. We clean the house properly from top to bottom. It made a real difference for the next people coming in. My husband fixed the kitchen drawer the front of which came off the first day we opened it. However, all in all it was a great holiday, lovely location and very comfortable.

If something was missed by the housekeepers, they apologise unreservedly. The same holidaymakers found the hob difficult to use and contacted the housekeepers for assisstance after they has been in the house for at least 24 hours. Assisstance was provided and the problem solved; at that time no mention was made of the other problems described. The house has, prominently displayed, the telphone numbers of the housekeepers. If the holidaymakers had let the housekeepers know if there were any further problems, those problems also would have been dealt with. Property Owner

  • "It's a nice place to stay at , lovely sunset view and feels like a lovely home x Just had a few issues with heating as there's a long hole in the ceiling of the patio door, wobbly banister rail, some lights are falling out, cupboard door handles loose."

We have noticed someone else has put similar reviews of things being issues and we have noticed there still not fixed to standard. Other than that its been a nice weeks holiday. Thankyou x

Thank you for the positive comments you have left regarding your stay. I have spoken to the housekeepers regarding the other points you raised. They do not know of and cannot find " a long hole in the ceiling of the patio door". The heating works perfectly and the guests who stayed at the house following your visit had no compnaints. The bannister rail does lift very slightly if you lift it when you are going up stairs but hardly at all. That will be rectified so that there is no movement at all. The only light that was in any way out of position was a ceiling downlighter above the dining table and that was projecting from the ceiling by between 1 and 2 millimetres, it had not been pushed back into it's proper position, and has now been rectified. Absolutely no " lights were falling out" . The only "cupboard door handle that was loose " was the handle to the cupboard that contains the gas boiler; that cupboard does not need to be opened at any time by the guests staying at the property. All these point could have been dealt with by the housekeepers during your stay, thus saving you any inconvenience, if you had chosen to contact them. Thanks again for the positive remarks you have made. Property Owner

  • "This property is very dangerous to live in as the ceiling is leaking water from the spotlights on the ceiling and other part of the ceiling."

I have been charged for a dirty towel and cleaning house which they charged £240. I used a towel to soak up the water that is leaking from there ceiling that discoloured the towel due to water contamination coming out the ceiling wall.the owners did not leave any kitchen paper towels or kitchen towels to soak up any spillage or leaks.I left a takeaway container on a table and a lettuce the fridge by accident. Also a duvet downstairs because there was nothing to wrap yourself up with downstairs. Due to this they have slaped me a bill of £240 for extra cleaning duties but you have to clean the property for the next guests anyway. The owners are liars and will charge you for anything they can. THIS PROPERTY IS DANGEROUS AS THE CEILING IS LEAKING AND WILL FALL DOWN ON YOU. THE OWNERS ARE WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS THEY PUT CELLETAPE AT A CERTAIN POINT SO THE WATER DRIPS STRAIGHT ONTO THE FLOOF INSTEAD OF SPREADING FURTHER AROUND THE CEILING. THE CEILING HAS LOTS OF WATER LEAKING STAINS ALL OVER THE CEILING WICH IS YELLOW AND MADE THIS TOWEL TURN YELLOW WHEN I SOAKED UP THE WATER FROM THE FLOOR. THEY HAVE CHARGED ME FOR THERE PROBLEMS AND CLEANING DUTIES. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS OF THEM. DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY AND SAVE YOURSELF FROM EXTRA CHARGES AND THE SAFTY OF YOUR LIFE

This customer caused damage to the property that Sykes recovered from his credit card as he explains above. He is now barred from renting the property. All his problems were of his own making. Property Owner

  • "Excellent location."

Surface clean and tidy but felt 'jaded'. Washbasin needs replacing - ceramic cracked. Shower tray edging needs deep clean. Loose cupboard handles. Radiator in lounge very scratched. It is end of season so expect deep clean will be scheduled. Otherwise, plenty of hot water and excellent shower spray. Comfortable beds. Adequate wardrobe space with hangars.Enjoyed staying in the property as location wonderful by the sea and convenient for walking into the town. Size-wise - just as described so met expectations. Thank you.

The wash-basin will be replaced prior to Christmas as part of of the planned maintenance that takes place every year during the quieter period in the winter. Property Owner

Would be better if hand towels were included with bath towels. One towel per person I think is inadequate. Difficult to get towels dry. There were some cleanliness issues , there were some dust and sweet papers behind the tv. Skirting boards could do with a good clean.

My apologies, if the house-keepers had been contacted they would have provided the hand towels that should have been there. I have spoken to the house-keepers about regarding the other issues. I’m glad you saw the dolphins, they’re a great sight. Property Owner
