“It is pretty remote, lots of narrow roads.”

But well worth getting away from everything. Lovely property, very comfy and cosy, clean. Nice linens and towels. Good showers. Basic kitchen equipment but just enough to keep you going. WiFi isn't fab if you're used to a high bandwidth broadband but again, good to switch devices off! Over all a delightful property, would recommend and will go again.

The property

In the mid-Welsh countryside, amongst the quiet hamlets of Llanbadarn-y-Garreg, Rhulen and Cregrina, you can find this large and traditional farmhouse, Llwyn, bursting with classic features, with beams throughout, and country charm.

Suitable for a larger family or perhaps a gathering of friends, this homely dwelling can sleep eight people and is great for access to country walks, stunning views and scenic trails.

The property begins with the large sitting room, where you can enjoy sitting on the leather sofas in front of the woodburning stove, with a TV and DVD player for your entertainment, and simple but quaint decor.

Featuring wood beams set in plaster walls, the additional sitting room is grand and showcases a huge inglenook fireplace containing an open-fire.

Coming through to the kitchen, it is like any classic farmhouse kitchen, with a dining area, wood units and sleek worktops, hosting a good range of appliances, with more to find in the utility room just one step down, where a washing machine and a fridge and freezer is tucked away.

Travelling up the wooden straircase to the first floor, you are presented with several farmhouse wooden doors leading to the bedrooms which consist of one king, one double, a twin and two singles, featuring sloping ceilings, exposed beams, and thoughtfully furnished with antique furniture, along with light and airy bedding to create wonderful space to relax after long days of exploring.

Serving these rooms are the two first-floor bathrooms, one is a family bathroom holding a bath with shower over, basin and WC with Jack and Jill access to the twin room and the other is a shower room with Jack and Jill access to one of the double rooms.

Outside you can enjoy your own enclosed patio garden area, when a balmy summer evening is the perfect setting for winding down for the night with a glass of something refreshing in hand.
