I loved my time at the hayloft and would still be there now if I could.

Everything was fine. The property is lovely and well kept. Everything seems to work fine. Lovely views and a great location for walks and other outdoor activities. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here, thank you.

  • "I've just comeback from a relaxing few days over New Year at the Hayloft."

Everything was perfect. The place was cozy, warm and spotless when I arrived. I had brought stuff that other reviewers had said was missing but everything I needed was there from wash up liquid, binbags, tinfoil, tea towels even the basics like tea coffee sugar salt etc. A huge comfy bed, lovely loft sitting room and lots of local area info and general info pack about the Hayloft. It was just what I needed thank you. It was also great not to have to listen to 5 hours of fireworks on NYE which was great for my dog. I would take a torch next time as the dog loved his night walks on the huge field.

  • "Was very disappointed on arrival, no welcome pack, no information book to let you know what expected, eg recycling, which bins for poo bags, although found tv manual would have been nice to have simple instructions."

I only found streaming so you need to add your accounts which unfortunately I forgot to remove on leaving (I am not very tech savvy) Used sponge for washing up left, no replacement. Bedding had not been ironed looked a mess. Very stained spare pillow in wardrobe, no bedside side cabinet on one side of bed, used stool from kitchen. It was an unusually warm day. Overwhelmed by heat in property. Went to upstairs lounge to be greeted by approximately 20 to 30 files. Unfortunately dropped front door key coming out which fell between a good sized gap between the wooden landing and the wall and disappeared below. I went down the stairs to see if I could recover myself, however it was blocked off so needed to contact owner to recover key. I point out the flies but he did not have any fly spray, but he did come and sort out heating. I later discovered the toilet was temperamental did text next day, not sure it was sorted. No automatic lightening on the stairs. Coming back in the dark, dog on lead in one hand torch light from mobile in the other felt that can lead to accidents to happening. Outside light can be switched on from inside property, but did not light up stairs going down, taking dog out for last wee problematic as need to keep on lead, which is Sykes rules and may not have been the case at the property but an information book could have highlighted that for you. 5 star location attention to detail in and outside the property could have made this a great stay.

  • "The property and surrounding area was lovely."

A few niggly things wrong. No instructions for anything (tv and wi-fi). Eventually managed to get 1 channel (bbc i player) to work as needed password for Netflix etc. Had to buy some items as there wasn’t any - toilet rolls, soap, dishcloth. The outside area needs some attention as quite messy. A lot of weeds in seating area and equipment (barbecues) which were not fit for purpose. A lot of dead plants in pots. This could be made to look lovely in less than a day ! Although i did enjoy my time there it wasn’t inviting enough for me to want to return

  • "Great little cottage with a super location couple of pubs very close by serving good food at a very reasonable price, and both dog friendly."

Owners very friendly and welcoming. Only thing the freezer door in the fridge was loose so therefore the freezer was unusable, a small thing that didn’t affect us but might affect others. All in all a lovely place to stay with fantastic views.

Only minor worry was the stairs leading up to the property, if it rained they could be quite slippery ( we had beautiful weather ). We had a great time & wouldn’t hesitate to come again

  • "The Hayloft is really conveniently located for access to Shropshire and easily commutable to North Wales and the wider area."

Unfortunately however we wouldn’t recommend booking the Hayloft. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and far too short for anyone 5ft10+, the pillows were so flat that we went out to buy some more, and the sofa is really uncomfortable when trying to relax in an evening. There was also a really unpleasant smell of oil throughout our stay which although the owner couldn’t smell he did try to rectify; but it didn’t improve and made being in the Hayloft very unpleasant. Whilst the owner is friendly and helpful, and the tortoise is a great surprise addition, overall the Hayloft is a lot smaller than it appears on photos and there were a few too many comfort and maintenance issues for us to be satisfied with our stay.
