    We where greeted by Amanda the perfect host she showed us around & was very informative the place was spotless the beds so comfortable the kitchen had everything the views across the hills where stunning the three tuns pub with its blazing log fire was no more than 30 seconds away all in all a great place to stay id definitely go back thanks again to Amanda super chilled person

  • "Our first time away over the Christmas period as a family and Laurgeths House was a home from home."

    The Kitchen so well equipped and we loved the open plan kitchen /diner. Amanda the owner was so welcoming and accommodating, house was decorated for Christmas. Decor of the whole house was beautiful, bathroom and bedrooms stunning. We will definitely be back to make the most of the fantastic garden in the warmer weather. There was 7 adults in our group, plenty of room for us all Fabulous stay and would recommend for everyone.

  • "A beautiful well maintained clean and spacious cottage with a lovely garden with lots of little hubs to sit and relax and take in the views."

    Amanda was really welcoming and met us to ensure any questions/requests are satisfied and was a mine of information about the village and the surrounding countryside. I hope be able to revisit soon as the cottage met and superseded the advertisement and is very fairly priced . Thank you Amanda

  • "We thoroughly recommend this cottage."

    Very comfortable in all respects. It has a delightful garden which was great for the dog, entirely safe. Also lovely to sit out in. It is directly opposite the 3 Tuns pub and brewery, the food and local beer both being excellent. The owner of the cottage was there to meet us and is very friendly and helpful. It is in a great position for enjoying the many walks across the hills or exploring the small towns. We definitely hope to return!

    The hostess was really helpful. The house was clean and well equipped and the beautiful cottage style garden offered a variety of different seating options. In the house games were provided.

  • "We visited Laurgeths House as a base for a family holiday and could not have been more delighted!"

    The house and garden are beautifully presented and maintained, and very comfortable. Our party of eight were very comfortable, particularly loved the well equipped kitchen. Weather permitting we could dine outside in the large garden and views from the back of the house are stunning. Thank you for the stay, the warm welcome and brilliant communication from the proprietor and we will definitely return! Oh yes, Bishops Castle itself is a hidden and unspoilt gem.

  • "7 of us stayed, my husband and I, with 3 grown up sons and 2 partners, for a long weekend in August."

    It's a beautiful house and garden, very nicely laid out. Decor and furniture ideal for a big group. There is everything provided that you could think of needing plus extras. Comfortable and tastefully decorated without the clutter of ones home. It was so nice to be able to go back there in the evening to spend time together. A lovely welcome from Amanda. I'd happily choose to stay here again. Plenty of small shops and pubs in the town and places to eat out. Very friendly locals too.

  • "We had a lovely short stay at Laurgeths House, Amanda was very welcoming, the house and are gardens were beautiful."

    All you need for a self catering stay! Bishops Castle is a great quirky town we had meals at the Tree Tuns Brewery as well as The Castle Hotel both of which were fab. Would recommend a visit here!

  • "What a gorgeous place!"

    Classy and stylish interior decor and a well designed beautifully maintained garden. Kitchen was well laid out with everything you might need (and we cooked most nights) comfortable lounge and beautiful bedrooms. Shower was fabulous too. Host was friendly and approachable who lived close by. Cannot recommend highly enough. We took our 2 dogs and they thought it was heaven. We would love to return.

  • "Very friendly, helpful and communicative host."

    We felt very welcome and enjoyed lighting the log burner with the fuel provided. Very comfortable accommodation for 5 people near to plenty of dining options in the evening - we all really enjoyed- highly recommended.

  • "We had a lovely 4 night stay at Laurgeths house, Its walking distance to everything you could need pubs, chippy, cafes and shops."

    Lots of nice walks nearby, house was lovely and clean and beds were really comfortable, The kids loved playing in the garden and there are plenty of places to sit in the sunshine , will deffo reccomend to family.

The property

Welcoming eight guests, as well as two four-legged friends, Laurgeths House boasts enclosed outdoor spaces, open-plan living and stunning interior so that friends and family alike can come together to relish the perfect retreat to Shropshire.

Enter the property after ambling through a spacious garden into the charming kitchen/diner, allow the designated chef to get to grips with a fantastic range of appliances as you settle down at the dining table; pop open a bottle of fizz and toast to a fantastic getaway before tucking into a feast.

Alternatively, during warmer months step outside to a private patio and decking to enjoy alfresco mealtimes in the peaceful backdrop of the Shropshire Hills AONB.

Retreat to a homely sitting room and curl up in the warmth of a roaring woodburning stove, click on the TV and bask in some light entertainment with your loved ones close.

When the evening draws to a close, ascend the staircase and complete your routine in the family bathroom, take a soak in the bath or fresh up with a revitalising shower before drawing back the covers of a sumptuous double or single bed and drift off into a refreshing night’s embrace.
