  • "Very friendly and helpful owners."

Beautiful spot on a hill with magnificent views and really clean-fresh air. Very close town with usual good facilities. Weather slightly cooler than expected in May but still very enjoyable. A nice and pleasant adventure for us.

  • "The cottage was as described a really good relaxing break the owners are very helpful and nice."

But the cottage at the end of the road is no longer pink but white a bit confusing but we got there. Would definitely stay again

  • "Just spent a lovely week at the Poddy Barn."

Cottage v well appointed, everything you need. Very comfortable beds. Stunning views. Totally dog friendly & safe garden - our 7 month old Labrador loved it. Some farm noise & smells but totally unobtrusive. Steph & Prosser v friendly & helpful. Great wifi. Only slight downside was the amount of flies but to be expected on a farm and didn’t spoil the holiday. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely love to go back and spend another week there.

  • "Lovely cottage and location."

The view across the valley from the garden was pretty special. The owners were friendly and helpful, their information book with recommendations and places to visit also helped us to decide what we were going to do. This cottage is on a working farm, so there is noise from the cows and sheep at all hours of the day, but we enjoyed that change in environment for our holiday.

The barn is on a working farm so the hosts are onsite and very helpful we will definitely be going back

Spectacular views and ideally located for walking the local countryside, including the Kerry Ridgeway from which even more spectacular views can be seen. A welcome hamper was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Some farm noise but not at all intrusive..

  • "Just what we needed!"

Booked the Poddy Barn for an anniversary break with my parents ,beautiful converted barn in a very pretty area of Wales,we were blessed with superb weather for the whole 4 days and the views from the barn and garden were stunning! Garden was enclosed so very safe for our little pooch as well,as with all of our previous sykes cottages holidays the standard of accommodation was exceptional, one minor niggle was the very small oven/grill but that's just us being picky....all in all, just what we needed in these very strange times and can't wait to return!

  • "Our stay couldnt have been better, the cottage is beautiful and had everything we could ask for - and more!"

The location is brilliant, set up on a hill with amazing views, especially in the morning when everything is quiet, and also in the evenings when you can see the stars! There are plenty of walks to be done from the cottage, or a short drive away - but also well situated if you wanted to get a little further afield. We didnt have much interaction with the owners, whose house is also on the farm (we think) - but this was mainly because everything was set up perfectly and interaction wasn't needed - but it was comforting to know they were near by! The cottage is on a working farm, so lots of animals around - sheep, cows and lots of dogs - we really loved the feel of this, and seeing sheep at the end of the garden, and hearing the cows. The cottage is 'dog-friendly', and as is the garden, there was no worry our dogs would get out in the the farm, this is always a huge bonus for us. All in all a 10 out of 10 on every aspect - would definitely love to come back one day!

  • "We had a lovely time at Poddy Barn."

Steph the owner is so thoughtful and kind, left us goodies on our arrival. Barn is comfortable and had everything we needed for a week's stay. Loved the fact it's on a farm....mooing every morning from the cows, made it a real getaway for us!! Area is outstandingly beautiful, lots of places to visit even though Covid is still very much around us, everyone and everywhere had security measures to ensure people remain as safe as possible. Lovely stay & hopefully one day we'll be back to visit.

  • "Lovely property for a week’s getaway."

Booking and access/key pickup was straightforward. Location is quite secluded (which we wanted) and although next to a working farm it was quiet and relaxing. Property done to a high standard and very characterful, with nice open plan kitchen, dining, living space and 2 bedrooms. Second bedroom relatively small but fine for our two daughters. Nice touch of a welcome hamper of goodies on arrival. The local area is a bit limited on nearby amenities (although there was a nice pub which does food in the village a couple of miles away, ‘The Kerry Lamb’. But we used it as a base to drive to other areas for days out so this wasn’t an issue and we enjoyed the secluded location.
