  • "Very enjoyable holiday we used the property as a base for touring all of mid wales."

We had high expectations of the property and wasn't dissapointed very spacious, well equipped, clean and tidy it also had great views. Owners were very pleasant and non intrusive and living next door was ideal. The only negative was the outdoor furniture, the cushions were left outside in wet weather and not waterproof, reccommend some sort of outdoor storage. Overall great place in many ways would definitely stay again.

About the location

ABBEYCWMHIR

Rhayader 6 miles; Llandrindod Wells 10 miles.

Abbeycwmhir ('abbey in the long valley') is a peaceful, picturesque and historic village, which nestles in the lovely Radnorshire Hills and stands on Glyndwr's Way national walking trail. This tranquil village is home to the well known ruins of a Cistercian Abbey founded in 1176, with its local CADW Interpretation Centre, The Hall, an impressive country mansion with lovely gardens, which are all open to the public, and the Happy Union Inn, which is an old fashioned ale house. There is wonderful walking and cycling from the village, with trails and paths meandering their way through woodland and along rivers, or for more challenging terrain, simply drive the short distance to the nearby Cambrian Mountains or the spectacular Brecon Beacons. Visit Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader or Builth Wells to find a variety of shops, museums, craft centres, pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. Visit the Red Kite Feeding Station at Rhayader, which offers a fantastic opportunity to see these beautiful birds at close range, take a trip to the peaceful Elan Valley Lakes, the Gilfach Nature Reserve or test your nerve at the Phil Price Rally School or the Underhill Farm Horse Riding School.
