  • "The images in the website were true of the cottage however, the unpleasant smell hit us the moment we opened the door and sadly all rooms including the kitchen utensils smelt of mildew, it made the stay quite unpleasant and packing even the unworn clothes smell of the mould, obviously the cottage has not been aired all season and this has sadly been overlooked by the cleaners."

We purchased diffusers to mask the smell. The kitchen heater was not working. To conclude it wasn’t what I’d expected to clean throughly the small kitchen equipment we would use to rid the smell off cups and plates.

We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at our lovely cottage. I’m afraid that most old cottages in North Wales suffer from a little damp. However we have of course taken your comments on board and thoroughly aired the cottage since your stay and washed all the kitchen crockery and utensils. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and hopefully further guests will find the cottage smelling fresh and welcoming. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is very well prepared and equipped."

Although our SatNav took us in through the other end of the road we found the cottage relatively easily. Parking is convenient for the cottage and we did not have any problems during our stay. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. We had a lovely stay with really good weather. The only aspect less than ideal is that Harlech is now not well served for places to eat or buy food. The few small places there are not always open and understandably get booked up. If the community centre is sold it may affect parking which would make loading and unloading very much harder for a large portion of those likely to use the cottage.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed."

Loved the welcoming basket - yummy local jam and welsh butter on proper toast - sat down to it as soon as we'd unpacked!! We walked from the cottage down to the far end of the beach - well worth the trek!! Harlech Castle was good too. Cottage is a good base for Barmouth and Portmeirion as well. Enjoyed our stay.
