  • "Unfortunately the mattress being of memory foam was a problem for my wife."

Had we known then we may not have booked this cottage. The settee was not very comfortable either and we thought the lighting in the kitchen/living room could have been better. It would also have helped if the switch which turned the boiler on had been highlighted in the information at the cottage as it is hidden away under kitchen cupboards and kitchen top equipment and didn’t find it until our last morning!

  • "The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped."

The owner was most helpful to ensure that all our needs were met. In fact he went beyond our expectations and we really appreciated the welcome pack and guidelines that helped make this holiday a most enjoyable and memorable experience. We would love to return again to this beautiful part of Wales sometime in the future.

  • "We had a great stay."

It was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The area is so quiet and peaceful. It’s a great place to relax but is also only a short drive away from Aberearon or New Quay.

  • "Lovely, cosy and comfortable bungalow in a peaceful and tranquil location."

Would benefit, however, from a grab rail in the shower to help anyone who may feel unsteady. This point was already made in a review from 2019. Also, the steps leading down to the property from the car park need a handrail. Otherwise, it was an ideal spot for visits along the coast and places inland, such as Lampeter. An enjoyable week's holiday in a lovely area of Wales.

  • "Cosy little cottage."

Excellent sleep. Packed with plenty facilities considering size. The children loved the place and the freedom to spend time outside. Within reasonable driving distance from beaches and coastal walks. Hope to be able to visit again soon. Thank you for making our short stay really enjoyable.

  • "On arrival the only means of heating water was on the cooker hob."

When questioned I was told that he was aware of the problem but thought that it was fixed, but a "spare" electric kettle was in the cupboard under the sink. The cupboard extended out of reach so managed to fish the kettle out from a pile of plastic bags. The next day the electrician came and fixed the immersion heater in minutes I can't understand why this wasn't dealt with on preparation of cottage I must say that the caretaker was very apologetic

I am sorry for the interruption during your stay. We were aware of the issue with the immersion heater and was advised that it had been resolved at the time prior to your stay. You advised us on the Sunday that there was a fault, we had alerted the electrician who came out on the Monday and all was fixed that same day. Most of our guests enjoy using the le-creuset kettle but never the less, I had made you aware that there was an electric kettle stored under the kitchen sink. Thank you for you comments and would love to see you holidaying with us again in the future! Property Owner

  • "As soon as we entered Clud we were struck by its' cleanliness and homely feel."

The bedrooms and bathroom area were a good size and the décor throughout was pleasing. The welshcakes on the side and the milk in the fridge of the well equipped kitchen were a welcome surprise. As we do not have Sky at home we had an issue with putting on the television but we contacted the owner who was very patient and we were able to sort it out. Unfortunately due to the inclement weather we did not get to sit outside on the decking area but that is a nice extra space. We were meeting family who were staying in Aberaeron in their camper van and they were really impressed with Clud when they came to visit. As I am 84 and less mobile than I used to be we were unable to do much walking in the surrounding area but the setting of the bungalows is lovely. Our greatest joy was watching the myriad of birds - blue tits, great tits, tree sparrows, robins, nuthatch, chaffinches, blackbirds, Lesser spotted woodpeckers and a Jay which regularly visited the bird feeders in the company of up to three squirrels at a time. It was well worth the few pounds we invested in nuts, bird seed and fat balls. The owners had kindly left binnoculars and a bird book in the back bedroom which was the best vantage point. We went to Llanerchaeron (a National Trust Property) just down the road and it was well worth a visit. Aberaeron and Newquay are close by with plenty of sights to see and places to eat. We particularly enjoyed the New Celtic Restaurant in Aberaeron in Market Street and The Old Watchouse on the harbour in Newquay where we had a lovely Fathers Day dinner. We had a very relaxing holiday and Clud was good to come home to. We hope to return.
