  • "Lovely couple, let my grandson play in their pool."

on arrival met us at door were their dog ran over supposedly friendly but bit my 8 year old. cottage not very clean, gorgeous kitchen but crumbs on worktops, dead flies on window sills, cobwebs in corners, bathroom very old and dated, bath very small my hubby could not fit in, not a lot of room in shower, single bedroom had marks all over the walls, badly needs updating. utility room was just a dumping ground full of old freezers and furniture, also very dirty loads of dead spiders, flies and cobwebs, the exterior of the cottage was really dirty, the outside window sills were very dirty, the views were lovely, but i expected a cleaner place after paying nearly £2500, we still enjoyed our holiday but sadly would not stay here again.

I am sorry to learn that your stay with us did not match your expectations. Our dog is very friendly and a playful young welsh collie. Due to the property location flies may be expected from time to time in the countryside. We are currently in the middle of refreshing some of the paintwork which is to be expected for wear and tear as we are approaching the end of the peak season. Thank you very much for letting us know of your thoughts, rest assured, these areas been addressed. Best wishes, The owners of Rock View Cottage Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very homely and we all were able to relax."

We were 6 people in total, with grand parents and toddlers, and the indoor and outdoor space worked really well for us. Enough space, and lots to explore nearby. Would certainly come back to this cottage again. Thank you!

  • "This is a lovely cottage."

Immaculate in its presentation, very well equipped and a great location. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday and feel that we had that at this cottage. We were able to walk from the door along the canal in both directions and to other walks nearby. The cottage has great views and we were able to enjoy these from the garden due to the lovely weather. We met Rob, the owner who was very friendly and helpful and we were visited most days by Tess, their sheepdog ! The village had most of what we needed and people were friendly. Only used the car once . Due to restrictions only one of the village pubs was open but nice enough to call in after a long walk! We didn't eat there so unable to give any opinion. We would recommend this cottage and it's location.

  • "It was so close to home yet a world away!"

Having endured lockdown in Oswestry only 7 miles away, my 90 year old mum and I needed a change of scenery. Being able to relax on the sofa in the lounge with that view of the rock was amazing. We went through lockdown while living just metres away from a very dusty and noisy building site on Middleton Rd, where work will continue through to summer 2021. You can imagine what a relief the peace and quiet of Rock View Cottage has meant to us. Fabulous! Thank you.

  • "We had an excellent holiday at this bungalow, which is well-sited in a peaceful location, with a short walk along the canal towpath into the village, passing a play park on the way."

The photos on the website did not do the property justice. The rooms were spacious and the outside area was ideal for our toddler grandson, with terrific views for the adults!

  • "We had a very enjoyable week at Rock View Cottage."

It is situated in a lovely area with lots of places of interest to visit and good walks from the door. The cottage was very comfortable with great views from the patio doors. The owners were very welcoming and their dog was very friendly, she even joined us for a walk along the canal one evening. A short walk along the canal takes you to the very interesting limestone works and Llanymynech rocks nature reserve. There is a very steep climb to the Border Viewpoint from here but it is well worth it as the views are amazing. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

  • "Fantastic accommodation."

The location was peaceful and a nice difference from our home town! The cottage was clean and well equipped and was nice to have a daily visit from the owners dog. There is a couple of takeaways and shops near by and supermarkets a little further out. Close to neighbouring towns, we visited Chester, Cheshire, Llangollen and Oswestry. Thank you for having us!

About the location

LLANYMYNECH

Llandrinio 4.3 miles. Owestry 7 miles

Llanymynech is a village straddling the border between Montgomeryshire/Powys, Wales, and Shropshire, England, about nine miles north of the Welsh town of Welshpool. The village is on the banks of the river Vyrnwy, and the Montgomery Canal passes through it. The border runs for the most part down the centre of the village's main street, with the eastern half of the village in England and the western half in Wales. Bound by the River Vyrnwy to the south and enormous limestone cliffs to the north. The cliffs are the quarried face of Llanymynech Hill, and the views from the top are magnificent. Approximately 17 miles away is the historic town of Shrewsbury, certainly worth a visit all year round.

Note: Dog to be kept in the kennels provided at all times.
