  • "We had a great stay, accommodation was excellent."

The view was lovely, hot tub private and just what we needed after long walks. Our host was very helpful and friendly. The selfie seat at top of hill where you could get really good photos of the surrounding valley was a good idea. Thank you for a really great stay. This place Is a gem. Regards mrs Barker and family

Clean and comfortable. Everything you could need for a home from home. Kitchen cupboards well stocked with china, saucepans etc. Bedrooms spacious with good storage. Ample parking. Lovely decking area with fantastic hot tub which we used every day. Location ideal for starting point for days out. The owner of the property very pleasant and helpful. Hopefully we will going back again. Definitely recommend this lodge

  • "Absolutely gorgeous property in lovely surroundings."

The owner, Merfyn, was extremely friendly and helpful. The lodge was clean on our arrival and had everything we needed for a brilliant stay. The bed and pillows were comfy, all the linen and towels were clean, and there were plenty of blankets provided too. It is a fab place to stay with a dog - all the floors were tiled so we could clean up easily, and both the decking and outside area were fully enclosed so we could let our dog out without worry. The hot tub was a fantastic addition, easy to use and clean. On arrival, the owner let us in and gave us some files full of information regarding local attractions and walks. We had a brilliant stay and we will definitely be returning!

The friendly owner was always on hand for any problems you may encounter of which we had none. Great base to explore lovely mid Wales and beyond. The private hot tub was very well looked after and provided an added bonus at the end of a long day sightseeing.

The lodge was very beautiful peaceful and the view was to die for it was more than well equipped I would definitely recommend but you need to use the car and it’s an hour from any beach (aberdyfi beach) best for dogs the owner was more than helpful

  • "If you’re going to charge us over 1,000 quid for 4 nights then I expect to get 1,000 quid worth and this failed miserably."

The place was austere, in desperate need of paint both inside and outside. Some kitchen essentials missing and list of items to bring was not complete so we were missing hand soap in the bathrooms and kitchen, salt and pepper, etc. The bathroom towels were paper thin, small and scratchy, grey and yellow stained. Disgusting! We ended up having to keep our beach towels to bath with. There was a drippy kitchen tap. The outdoor furniture was not comfortable at all (hard and splinters) and in nice weather that is where you want to spend a lot of time (not stuck indoors). The bed was awful! It was hard as a rock and very springy so when my husband or I moved we would wake each other. It also had this awful plastic cover on the mattress which made us sweat. We ended up removing it but why the owner thought that would be comfortable was beyond us!! The cabinets were dirty and full of grime as was all the cutlery and cookery. We ended up cleaning everything which is not our idea of a holiday. We were not allowed to check in until 5PM and had to check out at 9AM so not sure what was being done in that entire 8 hours but it certainly was not clean. The farmer on the land was very loud early every morning, even Sunday, you could hear his loud truck raving up and down the roads. We also did not have privacy as the farmer would peer in through the windows and encroach in our private space to talk to us on several occasions. One evening as we were sitting having dinner he even stood in our doorway to chat with us for about 20 minutes, disrupting a wonderful conversation I was having with my mother in law. We obviously had to stop and then the moment was gone. I don’t think the owner understands the meaning of privacy or holiday and I got the impression he thought he had carte blanche to the properly whilst we were occupying it. Overall this was was NOT good value for money and I certainly would never stay there again or recommend this place to anyone.

  • "We (as 2 couples), stayed at Osprey Lodge this weekend and from the reviews, we anticipated it to be a relaxing but enjoying weekend."

The owner was very polite on arrival and advised us where we could find a helpful booklet, included in the booklet was a statement which advised to leave the hot tub and quieten down by 11pm, which seemed more than reasonable. At 9:30pm, the owner angrily approached our lodge to advise that we were extremely loud. There was only 4 of us and we were just enjoying a drink and some music in the hot tub, we did not feel we was being “too loud” but quietened down anyway as we didn’t want to upset the owner any more. The next day, we went to apologise to the owner but it didn’t seem this was accepted as we were told that we “would never be coming back anyway” and that we “obviously thought this was a party place”. We did not think it was a party place at all and certainly was not treating it this way and this attitude made our second (and final) night very uncomfortable and made us feel on edge. We are 2 young couples and felt as though we were just being judged due to our age. On top of this, we had contacted the number provided on the first night as a sentimental piece of jewellery had been dropped under the decking, we received a response to say someone would come and help but all we received was a “telling off” and no help whatsoever in retrieving the jewellery. The property was swamped with flies from arrival throughout all of our stay, the weather was nice but not hot enough to expect flies to be everywhere. The lodge in itself was lovely, however I would only recommend people over the age of 40 who want a silent weekend to attend!

  • "The cottage was exactly as advertised."

Decent, comfortable furniture indoors, coupled with ample privacy outside. Although patio chairs could be a tad more comfortable, however, I suppose you're not meant to spend hours sitting on them while you're on holiday, so they do fit the bill. Hot tub is in a secluded location and offers complete privacy which makes it ever so enjoyable. In the kitchen, utensils and cutlery are provided in generous quantities. Dishwasher makes life so much easier, allowing more time for relaxing than scrubbing dishes. Two decent sized double bedrooms (one en-suite) have comfy beds and bedside tables as well as wardrobes. Again, a tick! Outside, the property could do better with a clothes line for functional reasons but it seems like it has intentionally been omitted so as not to block the fabulous views of the nearby hills and the valley. There is a walking track in immediate vicinity of the property, which leads to a 'selfie bench' on the hill. The owner is a lovely Welsh gentleman who is an absolute pleasure to speak with. He provided us with plenty of tips and advice regarding local attractions that helped us make the most of our time there. To put icing on the cake, the day before our departure, the Owner popped by to tell us not to worry about the checkout time and take our time instead. This was a really sweet gesture that allowed us to have one final lie-in the bed on our last day there. I would highly recommend this property to a couple or two, looking for a getaway in Wales. You won't be disappointed!

  • "We arrived with the owners having no knowledge of our booking, after proving that we had indeed booked, we were then met with the cottage being not ready for our stay."

A lot of little things could be added - dishwasher tablets, tea bags etc. And there were also ants covering our bathroom floor. I would say we were disappointed in general with the stay and it was not as good as we hoped it would be.

Thank you for your feedback which we take very seriously. We apologise for the property not being cleaned for your arrival. This was due to a communication error and we are sorry for any inconvenience this caused you. We have made extra provisions to ensure this does not happen again. We apologise for the issues you had and hope it did not impact your stay at our property too much. Kind regards Property Owner
