    “Fantastic and Relaxing Stay”

We stayed at Ty Capel from 27th September to 4th October and had a fantastic stay. The cottage was great and was even better than the detailed photos showed. We stayed at Ty Capel from 27th September to 4th October and had a fantastic stay. The cottage was great and was even better than the detailed photos showed. The downstairs is open plan with plenty of space and has a very relaxed vibe to it. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of crockery etc. for every cooking requirement. The upstairs bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds and both are en-suite. The patio area is a real sun trap and perfect for relaxing with a drink and letting the world go by while admiring the great sea views. The location of the cottage is great for the area to explore Snowdonia National Park and the many great beaches especially Barmouth, Harlech, Criccieth and Llanbedrog. We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen but I can recommend a good chinese in Barmouth and an excellent pizza takeaway in Tal-y-bont called Tony's. If we are ever in this area again we would definitely stay at Ty Capel, it's the best cottage we have ever stayed at.

The property

Ty Capel is a beautiful cottage with sea views on the fringes of the seaside village of Dyffryn Ardudwy, on the West coast of the Snowdonia National Park.

Formerly the home of the local minister, the cottage has been renovated to a high standard by its current owners and will suit couples, friends or a family.

Deceptively spacious, this beautiful cottage provides everything you need and more for a wonderful holiday experience.

The open-plan living accommodation has a light and bright interior with a sleek, modern kitchen with a breakfast bar which naturally separates the dining area and sitting area, with sofas and a Smart TV.

As well as the underfloor heating, which ensures an ambient temperature is maintained throughout, there is a warming, wall-mounted electric fire, which can project a choice of five different types of 'fire' and even has the option of crackling sound effects.

Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms, each with a well-appointed en-suite with contemporary fittings and fixtures.

The main bedroom boasts a king-size bed with sea views, while the second bedroom has a zip/link bed offering flexible sleeping arrangements.

Outside, there’s a lovely raised decking area just off the kitchen.

Patio furniture and a small BBQ allows guests to make the most of those sea views and has the benefit of being a real suntrap from lunchtime onwards.

Dyffryn Ardudwy is a lovely sea side village half way between Harlech and Barmouth on the western edge of Snowdonia.

The village has a butchers, post office and small grocery shop as well as a couple of cafés and two pubs serving food.

The larger towns of Barmouth and Harlech offer a wider selection of shops and restaurants and are 10 minutes away by car.

The area’s most obvious draw is the miles of clean sandy beaches nearby, but you can also take the opportunity to explore the rugged Rhinog mountains, accessible from the cottage.

Snowdon itself is a 40-minute drive to the North and other activities within a short car journey include mountain biking at Coed Y Brenin, white water rafting at Tryweryn and pony trekking in Betws-y-Coed.

Ty capel provides the perfect holiday base, any time of the year.

This property is next door to Ref:17144, booked together they can sleep 12.

About the location

DYFFRYN ARDUDWY

Harlech 5 miles; Barmouth 5 miles.

The pleasant village of Dyffryn Ardudwy quietly nestles between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the stunning golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. The unusual positioning of this charming village results in it having its own mild climate, as well as offering good local shops and pubs. The surrounding area has an exciting array of wildlife and birds including soaring buzzards. The small town of Harlech is just 4 miles away, dominated by its majestic 13th century castle which is a World Heritage Site, and the most impressive of all the castles built in North Wales by Edward I. Popular with golfers due to its famous Royal St. David's course, Harlech also boasts an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants. Nearby Barmouth offers an amazing Panorama Walk with breathtaking views and also a harbour from which you can enjoy a ferry to Fairbourne for a ride on the miniature railway or a boat trip out to sea to try mackerel fishing. With the delights of Snowdonia National Park and beautiful Cardigan Bay to discover, this is a fantastic holiday location at any time of the year.
